When I was an atheist I didn't get hate mail,no one called me childish names and I wasn't bombarded with personal insults by people who don't even know me or by anyone who does know me for that matter. Now that I'm a Christian,I get all of this. Please understand,I'm not complaining or whining as some like to accuse when I speak of hate and intolerance.I know it all comes with the territiory because Jesus told us it would. Freedom of speech is ok for everyone, unless they are a Christian doing what Christians are supposed to do which is to witness the gospel of Christ.Just today,an atheist told me to stop trying to convert people. Actually,I have heard and read more from atheists who are trying to convert Christians."God loves you"is called offensive and condescending and God is mocked by people who say they don't believe God exists. Those who refuse to be open minded tell me to be.Hypocrisy? So,do YOU think Jesus was right when He said the world would hate us just as the world hates Him?

I have recently started working at a new daycare for the summer, which could lead into the fall. Since I go to college, throughout the year I work at another daycare but this summer they couldnt offer me too many hours. Well anyway, I am having some trouble with a few new coworkers. First, this woman we will call A has been very degrading to me. The first day she made comments about me not "talking" and said I just sit there and dont interact with the kids. A few days after that she was talking about me to another girl (they were both looking and pointing). She also accused me of not changing diapers (when I do it more than anyone) and accused me of "babying" the 1 year olds. (sorry but when i 1yr old gets hurt, i like to comfort them). She keeps making smart a** comments here and there and its really pi**ing me off. Just because she is this old grandma who tries to be young and ghetto, yeah she thinks shes beyonce..she thinks she can boss me around. Im tired of dreading coming to work

Yet they believe that Jesus Christ is His son. Why would a father create his own son as something so different as himself? Obveously Jesus still has his body of flesh and bones. Then why would not God have the same? He is the all mighty. ...And so is Jesus Christ..... Then furthermore why would God create us his children as lesser beings as he with no chance of growing to become as he? If he truelly loves us as a Father loves his children. Oh you who call yourselves Christians.. Can't you see that you are being as narrow minded as the Pharasis were when Jesus came with the new and everlasting gospel. They too pounded the old scripture and old ways and declaired Jesus a fake and put him to death.

And since I'm an atheist, I'm already a murderer?

How do you figure that?

Jesus, according to most christians, paid the price for our sins so that we can be forgiven of our sins and not have to go to hell. Jesus preached about loving your fellow man, and loving god more than anything else. He promises heaven for all those who love him and believe in him, and even though there are differing views on what exactly is required (works, faith, baptism, gifts of the spirit, etc) all agree that Jesus had only two basic commands.

So why tell anyone that if they don't do what you say they'll go to hell? Isn't the above more than enough for someone to make a decision about becoming part of your faith? Isn't the promise of Heaven for those who love him and believe in him and follow his commands enough of an incentive for you to decide to follow him or not? If someone decides against following your religion, aren't they in effect saying that no, they don't want to serve your god? Isn't it between them and god when and if god chooses to call them?

I realize that there are some trolls that want to do nothing but tick people off, I do realize that.

But I am not trying to do that to anyone. I got an email message from someone saying they will block me because of a certain person on my contact list, how childish is that?

I'm here to ask and answer questions and learn about other people while trying to explain my beliefs. I am not here for a popularity contest.

So, the real question is, why would someone block someone that is actually trying to be sincere?

Why block someone just because of someone that is on their contact list?

Our very existance as "humans" is soley made possible by our species success in dominating all other competition to be the only surviving species of homo sapien. In a sense, we are inherently fighters, as survival will always be our strongest motivator as a species and as indivuals. Therefore it would seem a contradiction that there be peaceful humans. As I like to say to friends, " we all have blood on our hands, by our very being here" So I put it to you. Is there such a thing as peace?

Okay, so here's what I want to know... What do today's people think of their religions... Personally I wish christianism would be much closer to what it should be... Permisive of other beliefs, preaching love and universal UNDERSTANDING... I want to know what you all think and feel... Because it would be lovely to hear about how the situations of other religions are... and just maybe we can all learn from this... So are you or are you not content with today's world?
