Okay, so here's what I want to know... What do today's people think of their religions... Personally I wish christianism would be much closer to what it should be... Permisive of other beliefs, preaching love and universal UNDERSTANDING... I want to know what you all think and feel... Because it would be lovely to hear about how the situations of other religions are... and just maybe we can all learn from this... So are you or are you not content with today's world?

Permissive of everyones beliefs?

Thats not the Christianity of the Bible.

Thats not Christianity at all.

Love, yes.... but there is one true G-d. There is one true savior.

There can't be more than one version of the truth.

So to be permissive of everyones faith? That would be somthing un-Christian.

To love them even though their faith is different - Christian.
To pray for them - Christian.

I'm Catholic and I love it. There's an explanation for everything if you're willing to read enough to find it. I mean, yes, there are people who say they're Catholic and don't follow a single teaching of the Church, but the Church itself is great. You can't blame the bad example of a few on the religion they don't sincerely profess.

The only thing that bothers me is how many people genuinely think Catholics are evil, misguided beings who worship Mary and other bizarre things. In my opinion, they should go to World Youth Day in Sydney next year; then they would see what Catholicism is really all about and get a trip to Australia into the bargain.

It is a very F*cked up world..... almost entirely due to religion(s)!

Religions are a curse and should be abolished and replaced with a universal spirituality concept that knows NO differences. There should be ONE universal Law..... "Treat others as you want to be treated". That law does not really exist.

Christianity says " we are the only true religion" and if you do not join us and believe in Jesus, then you cannot be saved, no salvation and you have to burn in hell forever.

Islam says the same - Islam is the only true religion and all others are false and of the devil. All unbelievers in Allah and his prophet Mohamed are likewise condemned to eternal hell. That includes of course all followers of all the other religions. So - screw all the religions!

Nothing has caused more strife, bloodshed, misery and wars BUT religions in the last few milleniums.

I feel like there's a lot of hypocrisy, ignorance, and a lack of unity among today's religions. I am a Christian, in the true sense of the word, but feel uncomfortable with the way Christianity has come to be portrayed...although some of it is for good reason. However, I don't know how those of other religions are feeling about their own. Maybe we all feel a little off-balance.

A month or 2 ago, I saw a hilarious commedian on Comedy Central. I could only wish I remembered his name. He said:

"We have to be nice to all religions, because we have no way of telling which one is right. If a homeless person is standing in the middle of the busiest intersection in New York City and yells "God is a golf club" repeatedly, what would you think? He's crazy right? But what if we all get to heaven and it turns out God is a 9 iron?"

Point: Live your life with compassion and acceptence. If you choose to follow a religion, tolerate others as if you did not. Do this and you will be content with your world.

Today's world is about the worst it has ever been, IMHO. At least in recent years!

Countless folk wage wars, of sorts, with those who don't agree with others beliefs. Some of those 'wars' are real. Others are simply 'obstacles' to be overcome.

I am fear-full of those who seek to destroy my beliefs. Of those who will not allow me to think and believe what I know is right and real, at least for me!

The USA was founded on the concept of freedom of religion, not just for you or me, but for everyone.

It should not matter our faith. Believe what you will!

This is why The US of A was founded.

Love one-another, despite our differences.

Permissive, understanding?? You are speaking of watered down faith that candy preachers preach about. .....But, this is not Biblical truth! We are to preach love and Truth found ONLY in Jesus who is The Way, The Truth and The Life. NOT just love without the warnings, love without the discipline, the gospels without Revelation.....We are to tell the world the WHOLE bittersweet message. The love, hope AND the warnings of cults, satan, hell. We are not to tolerate watered down Faith JUST in order to have peace. This world is headed towards Armaggedon, judgments to come and to Jesus who will then turn this world right side up as He rids this world of evil and ushers in His Kingdom. Remember, this world is:
Ruled by satan
Ruined by man.....and. will be.......
Restored by Jesus

Did you just write "permissive of other beliefs" in reference to Xianity. Excuse me I can't breath.......laughing to hard...my bladder is going to burst. Please reread your bible. Now where in the OT or the NT is there acceptance of non-xian beliefs. Thanks for the laugh.

To answer your ?, no I'm not happy with the the state of the religiosity of the world. To quote Carl Sagan, "It is far better to grasp the universe as it really is than to persist in delusion, however satisfying and reassuring."

christianity is evolving..into the like of Christ's himself, it a slow process, because human nature is slow to change, example..did folks in 1880's, 1920's, 1960's accepted ghost, spirit, angels, demons..NO they did not, but we are evolving into "there is a spiritual world".around us. and there is way too much pharisee in the christians circle. as scripture pointed out, pharisee stop those seeking through humility are being stop by the phraisee(critical) and Jesus saying..the poor sinners, adultrer..ect..will enter heaven, before the pharisee..which fit with last be first..first be last.
relgion is going 2 ways..brighter in light and darker in lies/deception..wide is hell doorway..narrow is heaven gateway..humlity is the key..to accept by faith of His grace of JESUS as payment for your sins.
