...athiests starting answering me. What are they doing here on R&S anyway, they don't even believe in God? Shouldn't they be in the evolution section explaining why there are still monkeys if we evolved from monkeys? They can't even prove God doesn't exist, and why do they have funerals anyway? And why do they always bring up Santa Clause, do they even celibrate religious holidays? How can they be athiests when Hitler and Stalin were athiests? Don't they have a moral code or something?

just need more input on the Matrix and the Plato's cave similarity and what do you think about Reloaded and Revolution. I believe that the hole Matrix experiences ends at the first movie. After that it depends in how you take it , and how you want your freedom to be.

your in a buffet setting and a person puts a piece of food(fried chicken,pork chop etc. etc.) on plate then decides he/she doesn't want it then puts it back(they have not touched it with hands or mouth only tongues or utensils). Is it just me or is it very nasty?

Have you noticed that, they take verses and accommodate the interpretation the way they want it, without really study the real meaning!

I have noticed that their explanations about the OT are really out of context!

For example, "God is a murderer" is one of the things they usually interpret incorrectly.

I encourage you to study The Old Testament

Serious question to the fundamentalists.

You quote Leviticus as it relates to homosexuality, and say we should interpret the verses literally.

However, when Leviticus says that a woman shouldn't enter the church during her menstrual period, or that you shouldn't wear a cloth of more than one fibers, or that you shouldn't eat certain meats...the fundies say this is no longer to be interpreted literal.

So, how do you pick and choose?

Some will say not to pay attention to the old testament, that the old was abolished by Jesus, blah, blah blah.

But even in the New Testament...again, you will point at what the Apostle Paul writes in Corinthians about homosexuality and say to follow that literally...but, when he talks about the subjective role of women, that they shouldn't speak at church...you say, we should not interpret that literally.

It seems you select the "sins" that don't affect you as literal...and explain away the others.

Am I the ONLY one who believes this to be the tackiest form of being lazy? It seems in the last few years every bridal and baby shower I've gone to one of the first things upon walking in is I'm asked to address my own Thank You note enveope, to "help out" the bride/new mother. I find that this is the ultimate tacky move... am I alone in this thinking? Why do so many people throwing showers now do this? Shoot.. I might as well fill out my own thank you note too since I know what I brought? Why stop at addressing the envelope? Shoot.. don't bother sending me the note ya know?

If god could create the universe from nothing, could it be possible that the universe was created from nothing without god?

Thinking logically, with so many different creation stories promoted throughout the course of human history and the only ones supporting the others are the spin-offs of those religions (the Islamic and Christian faiths backing the Judaic claim of creation, but not the Egyptian version from which Judaism came, etc.) and since no human was around when it happened or can bring in god for direct questioning on this topic wouldn't the scientific consensus be the most accurate view of how the universe came to be?

I know christians don't like to hear that, but if their god can't give direct testimony to how it did it that is conclusively proven through examinable evidence (i.e. it has to be better than 'goddidit') then they really have no proof at all.

So, is this possible?
