Such as "hot mamma" (with a provocative picture) and "smarta$$"? And in the same breath berate others for being ungodly and cursing? A bit of ye olde hypocrisy, methinks.

I'm fairly new but it seems to me a lot of people do that. I don't know that there is any common denominator as far as theological background is concerned. However if by self-proclaimed you mean fundamentalist,I would agree it does seem redolent of hypocrisy, given their "squeaky clean" self-image and presumption of moral superiority. As to - let us say - catholics - they tend to have a good sense of humor, often surprisingly ribald, and in their case I would not consider it hypocritical. Their atttitude is often "I'm a human, warts and all" so such humor isn't dissonant with the way they present generally. If "hot mamma" is born-again or whatever,I would agree with you - sheer hypocrisy.

Because not all self proclaimed christian are christians. That is a very obvious observation in society.

Religion causes problems of many kinds. An actual relationship with God doesn't. When you really love God you don't do those things and act those ways. I go to a church with well over 3000 members. I see a lot of different kinds of people. People who come to church every Sunday and Wednesday, but unless they have a change of heart and a real experiences with God, they won't make it to Heaven. I also see people who ever come to church and do not claim to be christian, but are nicer and more moral than some who do claim to be christians. Everyone would say they deserve to make it to heaven before the other type of people, but they still won't either.

It's all about your relationship and love for God. Not your title.

I don't believe sexual themes are neccessarily sinful, but I think your right. If you're going to be on top of others for supposedly not being godly, then being provocative and using names like that is hypocritical. Then again the majority of 'christians' are like that..... they feel powerful and get a warm fuzzy feeling from sexual 'sinful' things they think and do behind closed doors, but want to cruficy others for things they deem sinful.

Many Christians say they follow the bible, but they themselves do not read the bible, because of that, they don't always obey what is written. You can also blame their actions on human imperfection as well. They feel that because they claim to be men, or women, of god, they are exempt from God's Judgement.

I totally agree with you. That's part of why Christianity has gotten such a name now is becuase of people doing things like that. Christ isn't pleased with such behavior and activity. It certainly is not what a Christian is supposed to be!

Hypocrisy and Christianity go together like peanut butter and jelly, so it is OK. She can be cured and forgiven anytime she wants just like Ted Haggard.

It is hypocrisy. They have some growing up to do if they think those types of things are funny.

Because being a young person is a bigger commitment than being a christian. But yes, I agree.
