First of all know exactly what you are doing and why you are doing it before starting.
Make sure your intentions and energy is positive when casting. This will help prevent any gray areas. If directing towards a person try to have an object of theres or at least a picture handy.
Try to follow these things and all should go fine.

Think about what you're casting, and why. And not only what effects it may have on you, but on others around you.
For example - you don't want to take the time to water your lawn, so you do a rain spell instead. Simple, right? Who could it hurt?
But your neighbor (who also gets rained on), had a cookout planned that your rain ruined. Or a wedding. Or he was trying to put in a new fence but couldn't pour the concrete because you made it rain, and his dog gets away and is hit by a car.
Would that be worth it to save yourself an hour standing in the yard with a hose?
Magic is like a stone dropped into a pond, and the ripples it creates touch and bounce off of everything around it.
Basically, the Rede is an admonishment to stop and think about what you're doing, and decide if the consequences are worth the action.

It is intention for self satisfaction and personal gain that can turn any casting into grey or black. Also bear in mind that the abuse of Goddess’s power over trivial issues can turn against you. If you are now starting yr path in magic seek guidance, observe the omens and act on intuition only. If what you’re aiming for is not based on unconditional love then the risk is too high to take it.

Every step we take in this world causes something to be destroyed. When we walk our path we can't help stepping on those beyond our site. "Do what thou will shall be the whole of the law, will under love". Know your truest self before undertaking any ritual magick. It may be best to strive for a conversation with your guardian before attempting to effect your surroundings. Something will be harmed in the process of magick, for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.

When performing magic of any sort the first thing you need to learn and retain is that magic is like nature. It is neither good nor bad, neither black nor white. and there is no grey. There is only the intent of the person wielding the magic that determines whether a specific spell is "bad" or "good". So if you want to prevent doing black or grey magic, that's easy, look at the intent of your spells. Is your intent to harm someone else? Is your intent to change the will of another? Is your intent for someone else to lose out while you gain? If the answer is no, you have nothing to worry about.

that's a sturdy training besides. To me it means, "stay and enable stay." Do your Will, and get out human beings's thank you to allow them to do their Wills. straight forward as that. i think of that some Wiccans difficulty too lots approximately whether or not their spells will by hazard "turn Black." i don't think in "Black Magick" or "White Magick." Or in sturdy and Evil interior the Dualistic sense. I do agree that there is "ethical" and "unethical" magick -- however the ethics of magick comes from the reason, not the top effect. there is likewise, for my area, useful magick and Inefficient magick -- and that's set via the top effect and not the unique reason. this is the Inefficient use of magick that leads to unlucky element outcomes -- what we each so often call the "Monkey's Paw" effect. So that's substantial to be particular, to observe your spells intently, and to sparkling your innovations and your ritual area of any and all distractions earlier performing the ritual. think of intently approximately what you prefer, why you prefer it, and whether or not that's necessary or authentic searching so which you will have it earlier you employ magick to get it. there is not something incorrect with utilizing magick see you later as you employ it responsibly, intelligently, ethically, and effectively. bear in mind that no-one is suited at something the 1st time they do it, you will make blunders, yet you will get greater effective at it with prepare. you at the instant are not a nasty guy or woman, you ought to not give up working in the direction of. And, particular, the "fluffies" are being overly paranoid.

maigck is a tool it depends of the way you use it. Just be sure you have enough knowledge before you cast and you need to keep your thoughts and emotions in line, you don`t want to deviate from the original intention of the spell so you need self control and will power in order to prevent accidents...and of course the best thing that helps you along is experience.

Maybe you should replace that with the Wiccan Rede, which makes sense, if you're going to follow that....
http://www.paganlibrary.com/ethics/wiccan_ethics_rede.php
http://wicca.timerift.net/rede.shtml
If that's too much, try Thelema.
"Do as thou wilt, but harm none" is not a good ethic. Thelema and the Rede are.

azred is correct; as long as you are not doing any negative spells, you are fine. And to stop doing 'grey' or 'black'? Um, just don't do them. Do no spells that will in any way harm anyone purposefully. That's not hard.

dont cast any spells that will change someones free will. like, dont cast a spell to get someones ex boyfriend back for them. also take into consideration that accidents do happen, so if something backfires, dont take it too hard.
