I am a devout roman-catholic although recently while reading a book a came across the zen philosophy which i later looked up. I found it quite intriguing (spelling) and would like to try and persue it to an extent. Is it alright to follow both of these?

My question to you is "When did you Choose to be straight? You didn't choose to be straight, you were born that way. You like the opposite sex not because of a choice, it was right for you. Do you agree with this or disagree.

If you believe he can, then how do you know where your answer is coming from? If you believe he can't how come so many people receive so many different answers when they pray about the same thing? Wouldn't God be consistent?

this means, thru logic alone, prove to me that a creator exists, and not use the bible nor the koran.

And please don't say, "look around you... all this beautiful stuff was created by god". That isn't logic, is it?

and you even back it up with scriptural support, the person will deny that you're right, even go as far as to say you're wrong, criticize you for even doing your "homework" instead of just believing what everyone tells you, and say that you need to "pray more" even if you HAVE been praying about all the answers you're receiving?

All religions are welcome to let me know how this is rational!

Most of You Have Quoted romans 13:1-7and hebrews 13:17.saying yes we must do as the law says.even if Jesus says not to fight we will , if the Law says to..! WELL NOW... WILL YOU ALSO QUOTE ROMANS13 WHEN THESE SAME LAW MAKERS SAYS TO TAKE THE MARK OF THE BEAST..ACCORDING TO MOST OF YOU AND HOW YOU INTERPET THE SCRIPTURES THEY WILL STILL BE GOD'S MINISTERS FOR YOUR GOOD...WHAT WILL YOU DO..? NOW CAN BE SEEN THE ERROR IN YOUR RESONING..IF JESUS SAY NOT TO DO SOMETHING,BUT MAN SAYS TO DO IT WHO WILL BE YOUR GOD..? WHO DO YOU FOLLOW ? MANY HAS BEEN PUT TO DEATH FOR NOT FOLLOWING MAN'S LAW, BUT THEY FOLLOWED JESUS AND HIS WORD UNTO DEATH...ACCORDING TO MOST AND THERE INTERPRETATION OF ROMANS13:1-7 ,YOU MUST ACCEPT THE MARK OF THE BEAST

My grandmother recently passed away from cancer. She was a devoted Jehovah Witness for many many years. She never pushed the religion onto me and I never really felt the need to ask. But now I want to know, what did she believe would happen to her when she died? Does she believe she is in heaven or just gone forever?

what if the virgin Mary wasn't a virgin? what if she cheated on Joseph with the supposed "GOD" and couldn't tell him or her son the truth? maybe she wrote a book and pretended that some spirit had impregnated her. if people can be that crazy now with medications at their disposal, then why couldn't the bible all be a sham? maybe when jesus was crucified and then put in a cave, he wasn't dead just unconcious. maybe he regained his strength and got out. i believe we are simply lab rats. a subspecies of aliens. maybe thats why so many ppl have reported sightings. they come back to check on us. think about it, if adam and eve were the first humans on earth wouldn't they have had to commit insest to have kids? and their children must have had to procreate with one another. sounds like they commited sin! isn't insest shunned against in the bible? makes me question GODS morality. let me know what you think. i love a good rebutle.

I know one of the 10 Commandments calls for no working on the Sabbath.

I have a neighbor who still insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2 clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself, or should I ask the police to do it?

It was just suggested to me that no Christian has ever murdered because a REAL Christian would never do that.

So... has any Christian ever committed that sin?

Why do I see a (possibly inflammatory) question in this section and then 5 minutes later it's gone? Are there actually fascists who report other people and have their questions removed just because they don't like what they're saying/asking? Is this what America has come to???

My understanding of Revelation is that as the 'end days' approach, it will become scientifically obvious that God exists, and that the Christian Bible is correct in its predictions. I'm talking about the seas turning red, the sky going black etc, which I assume will not be explainable with science.

Surely at this point, all the athiests like myself with see this as positive proof that God and Jesus are real - and therefore that have a choice between Satan and Jesus. Assuming we are not crazy, and decide convert to Christianity, will we be saved from hell - or is there some sort of cut of date by which you must convert in order to be saved?

Sorry if sounds like a silly question, but really I am wondering if it is possible to see proof with your own eyes of Gods existance and still be able to choose to convert - or whether by the time you see the proof it is too late?

If bible-only Christians have a problem with images of Jesus Christ and the Apostles and the Christian saints than why do they allow their children to learn about Jesus Christ with the usage of picture books? I've had this discussion with a Evangelical Protestant friend and he continually argues we cannot depict Jesus because we don't know exactly what he looks like yet the usage of picture books to teach children of Christ is common place amongst Evangelicals. Are they hypocritics?

Rhythm and frequency can have quite an affect upon organic life forms. Whether it is music, spoken word, breathing, heartbeat or even written text, rhythm and frequency can affect all life forms but mainly at the subconscious level. With the bible, it’s all to do with the doctrine specific keywords with which the bible is littered. These keywords appear at a certain specific intervals throughout the text and as the words create images within the mind of the reader, these images in turn create emotion and emotion imprints itself upon memory and this leads to an affect on overall state of present consciousness. Is it possible that the writers and translators of the modern bible were somehow aware of this tactic?

Have you ever noticed a mixed guys hair when it's cut? (I'm reffering to a black and white "product".). It has like yellow blond patches and the rest is jet black. Like highlights. Why is that? I don't think I've seen any Whites have natural "discolored" hair like that. Or Blacks. Just curious here, I DO NOT want a racial flame war here.

I'm 18 now. and yeah people say once you've get to that age you think your grown and that u know it all. But i dont believe that is the case because if you ever had asian parents you know what kind of a struggle it can be. I'm not a bad person. i work for them at their business.I dont smoke or drink. I'm not a big partyer. But once every now and then maybe i would like to jus chill with my friends or go to the movies. But they bust up my phones calling me telling me to go to work..and i feel so guilty when i dont go because i know i owe them so much. Every time they call i dont pick up i get nauscious. only because i just want time for my life and i dont wanna hear it when i get home. I want really bad to just tell them to just treat me like an adult and jus give me freedom...How do i do that?

obviously country music has won the hearts of millions but i never understood why more blacks aren't in country music when there are just as many country black folks as inner city black folks. on the other hand, whites (young people of course) are embracing hip hop and r&b but the same thing isn't happening as quickly in reverse(blacks embracing country music). we have had small steps (rapper nelly and tim mcgraw, etc) but nothing huge... yes i know about cowboy troy/ rissi parker, etc

im not afraid to die, i dont believe in heaven or hell, god or the devil, i believe if there is a hell, we are already there. where else would people kill each other and be so cruel like we are on earth. so after this, we serve our time in hell, then go to a better place. worm food, no more suffering.
