Most people are passionate about their beliefs, and each of us has our own perception of God. For some people, the rules and beliefs of a particular religion are comfortable and familiar; but for others it is more meaningful to go beyond what we have been taught is "right" or "wrong".
I am also a questioner. I am not satisfied with someone's explanation that may not quite make sense to me. I tend to gravitate towards people who are comfortable thinking outside of the box, rather than taking everything on faith. Ultimately, if you adhere to a religion, there are certain things that you have to take on faith alone. Certainly there are precepts of Christianity that cannot be proven, and at some point, I have to accept at least some of those precepts. But I have a difficult time adhering to rules because someone told me that I should, rather than it being something that I have a personal convition about.
I think that regardless of what religion you belong to, each person has to have a sense of harmony with the beliefs taught by their religion and their own personal beliefs and values to continue practicing that particular religion.
I don't believe in arguing about what is correct and not correct in a religion, because that is something you will never get consensus on. I would rather acknowledge someone else's beliefs, not argue with them, and then live in a way that I feel in tune with. The old adage that you can't argue about religion and politics has a lot of truth in it.

Boy have I been there! I guess I just view it as some people are afraid to look at the bible and study it in it's fullest. Now I am not a Christian but I have read the bible. I have also studied or gone to different churches. The only difference I have seen in most churches is that they pray to the same God. Everyone can't be right. We will never know what is right until we die and actually go there, wherever there is. It is good to study many religions. I think one reason people don't believe what others are saying is because they don't want to have to read the bible and realize that not everything in it is true. Like the ones that say that the old testament is something that the Christians don't need to follow. Well the commandments are in the old testament. Don't you have to follow that? Every religion has it's holes. You just have to decide how big of holes you want in your religion. Keep studying and don't let the others get to you.

This is a very good question! First of all let me just say that we all have our own views about how the bible reads and relates to each one of us spiritually and mentally. By stating that, I would have to say that each individual takes what they read and interprets each verse, phrase, sentence, or word differently per each persons understanding (educational level) or per each persons religion background (what evers been drilled into their head).
There are many religions today because of this. They all interpret and view the bible differently. This is why it makes science even more an objectable amongst society.
Science is only trying to help prove what is true and maybe illiminate stories or tales that might have been recorded wrong. Remember we are all only human and we do make mistakes.
I was reading the other day about how the first 5 books in the bible were written by Moses. Moses sourses were from other scholars who had copied and copied from other scholars or from hearsay. You know how a tale goes as it goes further down the line (half of it true).
Anyway back on track here, most individuals may feel infearier of your knowledge or believe in a different religion so you have to say "whatever dude, believe what you want". Just know that what you believe in is all that matters, that is if you are not questioning your beliefs. If you are than don't go off one source, search other sources until you are satisified with what you find.

We really shouldn't even be asking each other these questions. The Bible has an answer for every question you ask. We as humans love to think we are right. If we are spiritual , the answers will be revealed to us if we read and reread the Bible. That is how we go off course. Most people mean well but truly are wrong when we are not spiritially grounded. We do not think like God because we are imperfect humans.

I think its because every one reads different things from the Bible. I know for me when I read a passage it means one thing then I can go back a few months later and read the same words and get a different meaning. To me that is the great thing about the scriptures, you can get an answer from the passages no matter which passage.

The Bible can be interpreted many different ways. There exists a need for a prophet of the Lord and even another testament of Christ to clarify things.

I agree with the first answer-- The Bible can be interpreted sooooo many different ways. JS found the same thing. And I think that's why there are so many different Christian churches.
You know my advice, hon... James 1:5... Pray in faith, setting pride, fear, and anger aside, getting your head and heart straight, bring your will in line with His.... Best of luck, dear.

I think it probably comes back to people's interpretation of the scriptures. What seems right to one person won't always seem right to someone else...at least, not right away.
And you are also right. Praying about it is really the best way to go about things.

Sometimes it is so frustrating that spirituality is locked within a literal translation of the Bible; it is so limiting. Spiritual understanding is obtained in a step by step process.......what we once understood in a literal sense, can also be understood in a symbolic perspective.
We have to look beyond our perspsective, there is the key to the deeper understanding of spiritual matters.

The bible can be vary confusing in it's interpretation, when I look for the truth I sit quietly and I listen to my heart because the heart will never lie to you, it dose take some practise but you can contact your spiritual self within, and believe me when you do wonderful things will start to happen in your life. May God Bless you and guide you on your quest.
