I would tip the person about 15%. It is a service and you have to take in to consideration that they are driving to your home, which would help with gas and transportation.

My ex husband is a farrier, and I must say, he was never tipped. Fed maybe, a cold drink, yes, but never tipped. He'd get a nice card for Christmas w/ a small bonus on occasion, and even a bottle or two. But that was it. Now on the track, some trainers would pop the farrier a nice bit if the change in shoeing seemed to have improved a horses way of going, but other then that, no tipping was necessary. Same w/ the massage therapist. Tho we did have an acupuncture specialist come by and work their magic, they were paid, but not tipped. Sidenote: what is REALLY appreciated, is having an animal who is well mannered, and to have people who are prompt and on time for their appointment. LOL Not to mention pay their bills on time.

Why would you? The fee covers the cost of getting to your house, the time and the skill. If the fee is inadequate, the therapist will charge more. You should not tip anyone for doing the job you are paying them to do. You should only tip for exceptional service above that normally expected.

If they do a great job, tips are customary in-house or in office. You obviously don't have to, but it'd be polite to give them maybe $5-10, minimum. The fee they charge is irrelevant.

It's optional as everything is included in the fees. BUT you can if you want to as an appreciation. If you can afford them coming to your house, it wont make you poorer if you tip them. They'll appreciate it and give better service the next time around.

Wow, that's quite a fee. It's probably customary, but don't do it if you feel you're being gigged.
