It tells us in the scriptures you have to accept them by faith. It tells us faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. Your faith will increase as you read the bible, God honors your search for truth and it is through His Spirit your faith will grow.Perhaps you might say well that is all very well but how do I know what it says is really true. Here are a couple of examples to show the word of God is truth. In the Old testament which was written hundreds of years before the coming of Christ we read of many prophecies. When Christ came He fulfilled over 100 of these prophecies, this could not happen by chance. They told of where Christ would be born and just how He would die ( it said He would die on a tree, the cross when Crucifixion was not even a practice then). This accuracy could only come from the God who is the creator. Also when Christ was crucified He was buried in the tomb for 3 days then rose from the dead , walked the earth for another 40 days and was seen by over 500! this is not one person's account. Does this not tell you Christ must have been who He said He was , He was written up by Greek historians and the Jewish historian "Josephus", There are many more prophecies in "Revelation" and other books in the old and New testament, you can trust them to be true. Hope you look into faith in Christ, read the book of John. Cheers

How can someone have a rebuttal to a bunch of "What if" statements?
What if your father really was Sasquatch? Rebuttal?
But to answer your 'what if' questions...
1) Mary was a Virgin. "What if she wasn't" doesn't make sense. The only reason you know about her is because of the Bible, and that is the only source. Thus, you take its word, or you throw it all out.
2) Jesus was beaten, crucified, and had a spear thrust into His heart. Not dead? C'mon! Even if He wasn't dead (which He was), regained His strength in 3 days?!
3) You say we are a subspecies of aliens. You believe in aliens, but this "Mary/Joseph/Jesus" thing throws you. Do you ever question your sanity?

What I would say is first of all "Where's your proof?" and second of all "How do you explain the existence of matter in this universe?".
Since something cannot come from nothing and a big bang has to has something to go bang and saying that matter has just always been here for all eternity doesn't explain why it's here, what's your explanation?
If on the other hand there is a supernatural, extra-dimensional, all powerful Creator then it's no big deal to believe that He could account for a virgin becoming pregnant without a man's seed or for Him to raise his Son from the dead since He can create life whenever and wherever He wants to.

Yay! Or what if Jesus was really an intergalactic overlord wearing human skin and he is an alien that has come to check the humans to see if they are ready to be harvested. Then he gets all stabbed to death and hung on the cross and what not then because he is an alien he regenerates his missing limbs and stuff and comes back to life! Then the uber master robot monkeyman overlord (god) came in to see how jesus the overlord was doing. Then they had a conversation that Jesus was really half human cuz Mary thought god was hawt so she cheated on her husband. Then they all go home and decide that they won't harvest the humans untill another few billion years after they get ripe.

I'd say that you were starting to think for yourself, and all you need is some great ideas by philosophers who came to the same conclusion you have. Read The God Delusion.... awesome writer. Richard Dawkins.
Interestingly, Martin S. makes an ancient mistake. He states that something cannot come from nothing. And he misses a point.... To think that there had first to be nothing is a human idea.... There could always have been matter. It need not have come from no where... It is a hard idea for a non-philosopher to grasp, but that is the man's "fatal" error in logic. Given that, it is easy to imagine anything.... isn't it?

THe Book of Genesis is mostly metaphor (Adam and Even were real people who first had SOULS).
There is no evidence that the Blessed Virgin was crazy or that Jesus Christ didn't die, but all the evidence points that Jesus was dead and rose on the third day! Praise the LORD. God bless. Hallelujah!

I dont play the what if game. You either believe or you dont. You dont have to believe all of it, but you dont have to disgrace the people who do. Your nieve story shows how immature people really can be. Your points of view on life are not what I call great. I admire your questions on the bible and christianity. I question it to. It is human nature. I believe there were other people on the earth, but Adam and Eve were the pure ones. They also have brothers if you read the book of genisis. I suggest you do your research before you plunge into this kind of discussion.

I think you don't have anything better to do with you time then to stir up controversy.
If a person doesn't believe in God, Mary , Jesus, the Bible....that's their right and their decision.
It's very disrespectful to stir up stuff just for the fun of it.
You're not going to change your mind....and neither are true Christians.
