im not afraid to die, i dont believe in heaven or hell, god or the devil, i believe if there is a hell, we are already there. where else would people kill each other and be so cruel like we are on earth. so after this, we serve our time in hell, then go to a better place. worm food, no more suffering.

I say what ever helps you get through each day, overcome each obstacle and sleep each night, as long as you don't hurt anyone or infringe on the rights of any one else to do the same.

I wasn't afraid of death before I became a christian I simply assumed that God would know I was pretty nice and I'd get to heaven. Afterwards I began to realise that this isn't the case. Hell is not now, although satan is allowed for a time to cause all the mess and havoc we see, but there is still a lot of good in the world. People love, care, nurture. This is seen strongly in the aftermath of a major disaster, the generosity and love that go along with it, these are all the things God has given the world. Hell on the other hand is a place where God is not an influence, so no love or caring, just a plain evil place.
People who don't believe in God don't believe in hell, therefore they aren't likely to become christians (or other faiths) out of fear of going to a place they don't believe in. Nobody can honestly be 'scared' into becoming a christian. It happens when one has an experience of Jesus, and repents, and that's the only way it has ever happened. People may go to church out of fear but going to church doesn't make anyone a christian.

Dont know about anybody else, but I'm not afraid to die. It has nothing to do with my belief in God or the church I go to. Death is a part of life. I was 14 when I decided that God didnt belong to one church. I know right from wrong, mostly by the way it makes me feel inside. To me, we make our own heaven or hell here on earth. My world has been mostly heaven because I see a lot of goodness in the world. The times that were like hell were few and over quickly. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. You cant force your beliefs on anyone. I cant force you to be happy anymore than you can put me into your version of the world. I'll be 70 years old in January and I look forward to every day.

Jesus said "Be not afraid of those who can hurt your body, but those who can hurt your soul."
If you believe earth is hell, then you are in for a rude awakening. Earth is the closest a BELIEVER will come to hell, and the closest a nonbeliever will come to heaven.
If you choose not to believe in heaven or hell, that is your choice. But, I will still tell you that hell is a real place, created for Satan and the fallen angels. But, since man sinned against God, and those who reject Jesus Christ will be thrown into the Lake of Fire, also. Believers will go to heaven to be with their Lord.
If you think it's cruel here, you have no idea what cruelty will be. Choose Jesus now, and you will be saved from the fiery hell that awaits you if you don't.
We don't believe in God because of heaven or hell. We believe there is heaven and hell because of God.

I think I get your ?. I'm only afraid of the pain as well. However, this is not why I have a close relationship with my God. I'm not really religious. I don't feel a need for a label. I do talk to God all the time, and I actually do get clear answers back, always have. I would feel like I lost a huge part of me if I could no longer have this relationship with my God.
It wouldn't surprise me if this is Satans realm. He did offer the earth to Jesus, how could he do so if it were not his to give?
blessed be
btw I believe in reincarnation.

They minor suffering we face here is nothing compared to the terrors of below. True Christians have a love for God so much that he has invited them to forever live in his great palace after their time on Earth is done. It's like this: If you are friendly and loving to someone (believing in and loving God) you will probably be invited to stay in their warm, comfy house, right? But the person that was mean to them (not believing or loving God) will be left out in the cold, dark, rain. Why should they invite hostility in, anyway? Would you invite someone who didn't appreciate you into your house? We aren't afraid of dying because we know that our death will be followed by everlasting joy. Will yours?

Actually, as a religious person, I am not afraid to die. In fact, I am ready to go home.
I am so ready to go home to Heaven that I pray for Jesus to return. But then even as I pray for His return, I know that if He grants my prayer, many will not make it to Heaven because they have not repented and come to the Lord. So I find this a selfish prayer. Then I have to pray for Him not to come back so that more can be saved.
Death is not the end, only the entryway…

In my experience, all humans are religious. "Religion" is clearly defined in Webster's Dictionary as "a cause, set of principles, or a belief that is held to with ardor and faith". There are no exceptions to this rule, and you could categorize every human on the planet as religious because of it. You yourself could be considered a religious atheist, because atheism is a belief that, believe it or not, is sometimes held to with more faith than Christianity.
That is also why a person, while their beliefs may be the cause and effect of their outlook on life and death, it is not the sole reason why a person would fear death. I know that for me, as a Christian, death is meaningless, because I know where I'm going when death is upon me. There is a natural fear of death rooted into our nature, but whether we suppress this instinct or not depends on the person in question, not really on what they believe.

Neither an atheist or a religious person can say they are not afraid to die. The fear of death is normal in all animals. It is in our genes and actually helps us as a survival skill. You would be lying to say you donot fear it! Courage is just not thinking about the death part and doing things for yourself or the community.

Death is something we all face. A common experience whether one is religious or atheist.
Fear of death really has nothing to do with religious belief or lack thereof. Every individual has their own views.
I just remember an old quotation "A brave man dies but once. A coward dies a thousand times."
