You know, you can't always prove something that you believe in - that is why it is called "faith". No matter what we say, that cannot change your opinion. See I could say "have a baby" because that really makes you amazed that there must be a God. I can tell you how my 18 month old was pointing to the corner of an empty room and smiling and clapping and saying "birdy man, birdy man" on a scary stormy night but if you want true logic - that might not prove anything to you.
Why do you want to know? Is this something you want to prove because you really want to believe in it? Or do you feel depressed and are hoping there is more to life... Ok, well, there are some ways to think about it that I can think of...
1. Can you see air? Do you believe it is there? yes - so why not believe in God and heaven.
2. My children were in our car recently during a storm and the school car-park was so dangerous the groundsmen told all the parents to not get kids out of the cars because lighting was hitting the area and the hail was cutting through umbrellas - so my husband left the children sitting there while he ran to my older daughter's classroom to fetch her. The waters flooded up quickly and all the cars started to float away - my car had water up to the windows and my son (9 years old) couldn't open the doors or windows (electric). He was crying as were my 4 year old and the baby. He was trying to do anything to get the attention of the groundsmen and bumped the windscreen wipers - they don't normally work without the car being on. They worked and the groundsman saw my children and two of them ran and saved them. How did they turn on? I think it was God or an angel.
I believe in God as the creator - but that is my choice. I think it is so important to have a belief in something - it gives you a purpose and hope for life.

I honestly don't know how your mind and the mind of other atheist work. If we see a house we know there is a builder and a maker even though we never saw the person, because our logic is that it did not create itself, but because there is a design it took intelligence. But if we were to compare the design and complexity of a building, or a computer, or a satellite to a human cell, plant cell, animal cell, fish cell; we would see that the building, computer, and satellite are extremely simple creations compared to the cells. Yet you see the 'intelligent' design in these man-made items and not in nature, not in yourself. Can you make something that is between 6 feet to 9 feet long small enough that can only be seen through a powerfull microscope, God did, its called DNA. If you are an atheist then you are probably a person of science. Everyone knows that in the world of electricity opposites attract and likes repel. Tell me how is it that the protrons in the nucleus stay there without repelling each other? There is nothing holding them there. This answer you cannot find in science since there isn't one, but you can find it in the Bible. So to summarize, if machines have a creator, buildings have a creator, computers have a creator, fences have a creator, clothes have a creator, then all of what we call nature must have a creator since there is a much more suffisticated and complex design. If you notice all of science's discoveries such as the world is round, there are mountains under the ocean, and the list goes on; are all found in the Bible yet we give credit to the scientist. Can you explain these questions since I've already answered yours?

Well, I seriously doubt that you have the corner on logic, but you probably think you do.
Logically, nothing can come from nothing, there has to be something to create something first. A very basic scientific fact. So, logically, if the world was formed from existing matter, and was a lifeless planet, then, logically, something caused something to happen. Logically, A Creator. An all powerful, all seeing, all knowing Supreme Being.
For life to come from nothing without any outside help is a simple, impossible equation. The odds of life simply happening are 100 billion to one. Intelligent design is not a theory, it is the only possible answer.

If logic were all there were to us, you would have never even been able to ask this question to start with.
Fact is, we are very complicated beings and logic is only a part of who and what we are.
Most of us could us a bit more of our logical side, but truth be told, we do not, religion aside, we all neglect logic a bit much.
So, you have more to you than logic. Where would the rest of you come from. If all were logical, then all would be black and white and all would know the same exact things and there would be no unexpected emotions nor outcomes to life, it would flow logically and "normally".
Even abnormalities would flow from logical outcomes and have no unknown variables if we were purely logical beings.
So, you do not like the use of the word God. Use the word Creator instead. The end result of our entire being is that we have a creator, somewhere , somehow.

Intelligent people are better at using logic than less intelligent people.
If a situation existed where only intelligent people could find God, then life would be pointless. Intelligence is a gift which is inequally and aribitrarily distrubted. There wouldn't be much point in a God creating some people who were not capable of believing in him due to their lack of logical reasoning.
Capacity for faith however seems to be equal in everyone. Therefore the only 'fair' way God could let people choose him would be though faith.
I'm an athiest myslef, but maybe this input will help.

The foundation of belief is not found thru logic and casual 'physical' means. It has to be far greater than that thru faith.
It is thru faith that truth and belief of the Lord Jesus is found.
One cannot prove what gravity is thru logic either. Nor can you prove numerous other things, yet we can see their effect in one way or another.
You cannot set forth limitations like this and then make claims as you have made. It is like asking someone to describe the other side of a mountain they've never seen but they aren't allowed to travel there.
It is a poorly formed statement. One has to be able to assume that thru the set 'rules' that there is, in fact, a pathway to the desired result. If there isn't then the problem is already defunct.
People make this statement often, and in various ways, and they love to set forth rules which are obviously impossible to utilize to attain the goal.
'Drink this glass of water, BUT....you can't look at it, walk near it, touch it or even be in the same room with it'.
The beauty in faith IS the belief without having been given proof. A man can show his love to his woman with just a smile...just a look......totally silent, no touch, and she knows without doubt how he feels.
Right?

Before something exists, something must put it into existence. Therefore, before the universe existed something must have put it there. That reality is the Creator or God.
You can also ask God to give you somthing. When He answers your prayer, then it is logical that God exists.
You can also ask the intercession of Mary or one of the saints. When God gives you what you asked for through their intercession, then it follows that the saint is alive and probably in heaven because he must have been good otherwise he would not have been declared a saint. Therefore, heaven exists and you will know it does.

Excellent question. Let me ask you something, do you believe in love? Most likely you do. Is love something physical? No. It is a feeling, but we see it through actions. We see it through hugs, kisses, maybe even tears. Do you believe in God? Most likely you aren't sure. But think about it, you see God in actions. You see people having faith and how some have been so moved by God that they grow to love him and believe in him. Some have even died for him (example: Jehovah's Witnesses at the concentration camps at World War II). There have come to be people out there today who have put God first in their lives. How could something that serious and that moving be unreal? How can something that amazing, precious, and beautiful be all just a lie? Also, take into consideration the wind. Do you actually see the wind? No. But you see it in action, don't you. You feel the breeze and hear the rustle of leaves when wind passes by. What about gravity? Do you see gravity? No. But we've all come to believe that it's there and that it's part of our lives. We believe that it exists and that it keeps us from floating around. Maybe you aren't sure about the belief that God never dies and that he lasts forever. Does time every stop? No. Does space ever stop? No. Scientists today are convinced that there is no end to space. Let's believe it: God is real, and He is so real that logic itself can prove it.

Beauty of the physical world <<< that is my proof of the divine.
Whether you think its illogical or logical doesn't matter...
You are obviously atheist. If you don't believe in anything divine, then why are you asking someone to prove it to you?
Your already the atheist, so that means you believe there is no evidence to support the divine...no matter what....so again I ask you, why do want proof?
Is there some void in your life? Or are you just being a smart.a.s.s.?
But like I said, whether you think the physical beauty of everything that surrounds us naturally as being proof of the divine is logical or illogical doesn't matter. Why? Because that would be your opinion, not fact....
Have a great day. :D

well, you can't PROVE...but you can deduce.
Everything has a beginning, no? you had a beginning with your parents, your parents had a beginning......and so on and so on. back and aback and back, if we believe in evolution...we are down to soup......now we are a swirling mass of energy.......BIg bang backwards into two tiny little particles of who knows what......but thats as far as that goes....eventually you get to a point that says, so where DID we all come from? If everything existant has a beginning, then where did the very first thing that came into being have a beginning? There are two reasons......you have your creator (with no beginning) and you have your infinite going back into nothing non explanatory side. Which one makes more sense?
i forget which argument that falls under..i think its the cosmological arugment. I kinow there are others like the ontological argument but i dont remember them, i'd have to go find it somewhere.
