You you think there is life after death? I want to believe in Heaven or something but it's hard. I'm kinda having difficulty believing in the whole God thing because a friend of mine died a few months ago...she was 14 and had cancer. Why would God let that happen? (If there really is a God....) I wonder everyday where my friend is, and I worry about her too. I started to believe that there has to be more to life...that there is a heaven, that we can't just be gone after we die. But if we do go somewhere when we die, then where were we before we were born? nowhere right? we didn't exist. so i guess we just disappear when we die. What do you think? Do you think there is life after death?

I'm asking this question because many Christians believe that it is ungodly to actively to seek a mate. But the Bible isn't exactly clear on this topic. Dating and courtship really didn't exist during ancient times. For the most part, marriages were arranged up until the last century when you get automobiles. The choice of mates was a family decision with little input from the people getting married. In light of this, many Christians have questioned my faith saying things like I want a wife more than I want God's love or will for my life. This is unsettling and troubling for myself because I read about Adam before the Fall and he was seeking companionship amongs the animals. Also, God did state: It is good for man not to be alone. It also states in provers: he who findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtain favor with the Lord." And God allowed for arranged marriages to go on prettty much throughout the Bible, therefore is it wrong to use the services of a marriage agency?

Why is having so much money important to Americans? Does it subliminally confer reproductive advantage, and that's why people seek money, or is it simply a matter of security?

I've gotten some genuinely fascinating responses to my query as to Christ's sexuality in a previous question. Many of the responses seem to indicate that the reason why Christ was a non-sexual being was that he was Divine, God incarnate, and therefore not subject to human needs and "defects" like the rest of us.

My favorite:
"Jesus was divine. He had no reason to battle anything, especially sexual desire. therefore to be asexual was His right. You keep confusing His omnipotence with human qualities. He is God "

This, to my mind, raises entirely new questions. Exactly how human was he? We all know he lost his temper and became violent, and had to atone for it, with the money changers in the temple. Apparently, he was "human" enough to feel anger and to lash out in this anger, but not so sexual desire. Did he need to eat? Did he sleep? Did he urinate/defecate? Why is it so vital to us to make him anything more than an enlightened man, rather than some omnipotent, pacifist demigod?

Don't you feel even a little hypocritical when saying "Jesus is love" when Jesus bashed babies heads on rocks, condoned rape, torture, murder, genocide, and even caused women to have unwilling abortions?

Where's the love??

Okay so if you are a Christian that believes that there is life outside of our galaxy, which I do, here's my question.

If Jesus died for OUR sins, do you think that it's possible that he went to other galaxies in other forms and died for their sins also? I think that when we go to heaven there won't be just humans there.

So what do you think about that?

Hello, I'm 15, and I am interested in becoming a Wiccan. I've read a lot on the subject, and I realize deeply that it's not a trend or a club, rather, a lifestyle for those willing to accept it designed to promote personal and spiritual growth.
If you are a Wiccan or former Wiccan, please relay your experiences here. Do you regularly do magick? How do the people around you feel about it? What convinced you to become a Wiccan? How old were you, etc?
Thanks.

Oh, and, please, if you are just going to come badmouth Wicca and convince me that I need Jesus before I'm killed by a bolt of lightning, or if you are going to try and convince me that I don't indeed want to become a Wiccan, please, please don't answer.

=)

Do you think the rule that if you are not a Christian you will burn in Hell forever when you die is fair?

Do you think Hindus deserve to burn in Hell forever along with murders simply because they believe in the wrong version of God?

Most Christians here not only believe this, but act like it is perfectly fair. Not all Christians do, but a good deal act like this is fair.

Do this make you kind of mad and frustrated at them for being so blind to something that is obviously not fair? If this was a brand new rule, if the pope came up with this rule last week, most people would be against it. Yet, because it's been around for two thousand years, people accept it.

Does it give you a headache to think about how blind Christians can be to such a messed up rule?

with all the advancements in science, including evolution, etc etc, why do people still follow christianity? I don't understand.

Some people still actually believe the earth is only 6000 years old, when science has proven the earth to be millions/billions of years old. Why is this? Stupidity?

I mean everyone. Mostly Christians and atheists though. I'm not crazy about the high level of thick-headedness that exists among certain people. Why can't everyone just live together as humans, and just believe what we believe in, and keep it to ourselves??? ... None of us know what happens when we die, or exactly where we came from, and since we don't know, why can't we just leave it alone and focus on living life???
