You you think there is life after death? I want to believe in Heaven or something but it's hard. I'm kinda having difficulty believing in the whole God thing because a friend of mine died a few months ago...she was 14 and had cancer. Why would God let that happen? (If there really is a God....) I wonder everyday where my friend is, and I worry about her too. I started to believe that there has to be more to life...that there is a heaven, that we can't just be gone after we die. But if we do go somewhere when we die, then where were we before we were born? nowhere right? we didn't exist. so i guess we just disappear when we die. What do you think? Do you think there is life after death?

Sometimes when we lose someone we love and care about, the easiest thing to do is get angry with God and ask why. Because we are human and imperfect, with limited knowledge, we have no way of knowing what God's plan is for us or why things like this happen. I'm sure you've heard all the Christian cliches, so I won't try to convince you that God exists, or that there's life after death. But maybe you can try not to worry so much about it for now and when the pain subsides some (and it will), ask God to reveal Himself to you and give you peace of mind that He is real and so is the afterlife. If you're sincere, and God and the afterlife are real, God will give you the peace you need to accept it. And if no such peace comes, you can go on with your life assured that you tried everything you can to believe and nothing worked. The things you speak of are spiritual, things that no one can definitively assure you of. Only God can give you that assurance.

No, and please let me say that I'm really sorry about your friend. I agree with you, that if there was a God, that things like that wouldn't happen. The quote below may make sense to you.

"I would love to believe that when I die I will live again, that some thinking, feeling, remembering part of me will continue. But as much as I want to believe that, and despite the ancient and worldwide cultural traditions that assert an afterlife, I know of nothing to suggest that it is more than wishful thinking."

Yes, there is life after death. I'm a Christian, so of course I say yes, but there's more to what I think. Life has to have meaning, doesn't it? There is a heaven, and there is a hell, and they are both real. To get to heaven, you must believe that Jesus Christ died to save you from sin, and you must follow him. As far as why God lets things happen, that is very tough. Have you ever heard of Adam and Eve? It's one of the first parts of the Bible. Adam and Eve were the first humans and they were the first to sin against God. You see, God intended the world to be perfect, but humans screwed it up. So, there are bad things that happen in the world. It is a fallen world, and a sinful world. I think, too, that sometimes good things can come from bad even when we don't see it at first. There is a God, and he loves you. He gave humans the freewill to choose him or not to.

John 3:16
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Absolutely! I believe in an afterlife (it's called eternal life) and you can have that if you repent of your sins (turn away from them) ask God to forgive you, and ask Jesus into your heart. You become a believer in Jesus Christ. A believer not only believes in Him, but follows Him.
Jesus said "If you love Me, you will keep My commandments" So, if you want to be a follower of Jesus, you will also have to obey what He says. He promises us a place in Heaven with Him.
Read: John 14:2-4"In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so I would have told you. I go and prepare a place for you, And if I go and prepare a place for you,I WILL COME AGAIN and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you know."
Jesus tell us that He has a place for us in Heaven. And that He will come again(refers to His coming back to earth and RAPTURING, or taking with Him, all believers) When He says you know the way, it means Him. He is the Way to Heaven!
Jesus said "No one comes to the Father, except through ME"
The answers you seek are all in God's Word, the Holy Bible.
As far as death is concerned, we all die a 1st death(except those believers who are still alive when Jesus returns. They never experience death). If you are a believer, and die a believer before Jesus returns, you will be raised up first, and you will be joined with the believers who are still alive. Our bodies will be changed instantly (the Bible says "in the twinkling of an eye") Because we cannot go to heaven with earthly bodies. They have to be "glorified" bodies, like Jesus has. As for your dear friend who passed on, I cannot say for sure. But, there is an age of accountability when you are old enough, or you can understand the meaning of accepting Jesus as your Savior. There are a few descrepancies(sp?) about what age that is. It is my belief that it is different for each individual, and God decides that. The Jewish age of accountability is 13 years old, according to Jewish laws. But, if you are not of the Jewish faith, I don't believe that would pertain to you.
I hope I have helped you in some way. The Bible is the best place for answers. If you need help understanding the Bible, which many people do, then talk to someone who does know the Bible. Like a Pastor, or a Bible believing Christian. They could explain a lot of your quesitons. I can assure you. We don't just disappear when we die! God didn't create us just to live here on this earth and perish. What purpose would that serve? He created us in His image. He desires that we follow Him, so we can be with Him someday in Heaven. And guess what? You even get to see relatives, and friends when you get there. That is why we have such hope, and we, as believers are comforted by the words of the Bible, which is God's Holy Word that we will not just die, if we CHOOSE to believe in Jesus Christ. It is up to you. God gives you a choice. If you choose Him, you choose LIFE!!! God bless!

Yes, there is a life after death.

When you truly beleive that Jesus is your Lord and Savior, when you die you go to heaven to be with him for all of eternity. In heaven, there is no pain and no suffering, you are always happy, and there are no tears. Whenever someone dies, remember that it's not like you won't ever see them again. You'll see them in heaven and be with them forever. I hope this helps you. Sorry about your friend.

I think there is. Sorry to hear about your friend. No answer will take your pain away. God knows what he is doing so if there really is an afterlife I am sure God is taking good care of your friend. Try not to think about death as a bad thing for it is just the begining of the next chapter in your life. Its hard to lose someone you care about, hold them in your heart and know that one day you will see them again.

many people believe in reincarnation, when one body dies you move on to another. Some have memories of what could be previous lives.

even if you believe in a heaven, does not mean someone can't come back, as human or another form.
I believe in past lives, heaven i am not sure about., but it could just be another dimention of existance. Higher or sideways in spacetime.
when someone dies they could be reborn soon after on this planet or even another planet far away.

It is a nice thing to believe that there is a Heaven.
Nobody proved there is or there isn't life after death.
Therefore you CAN believe in this. Who knows?
People ask them self: ''How it looks like when you'll die?''
I think it looks like the same way when you sleep.
Only you can't dream (?). ...and you won't awake...

P.S. I'm really really sorry for your friend...
But be sure that your friend is now in perfect peacfullness.
Read about those who have experienced clinical death.
Some of them describe the feeling as a perfect peacfullness.

There is life after death. LIsten to that still voice within you. Do you ever "sense" or feel your friend with you? How about dreams....have you seen her in a dream? I'm verry sorry for you loss. There has been so many documented after death communications that I don't think you can list all of them as wishful thinking, delusions, or people wanting to make a buck or two off of these stories. Just know she lives on in the hereafter and is with you always.

Peace, Love, and Blessings
