I'm asking this question because many Christians believe that it is ungodly to actively to seek a mate. But the Bible isn't exactly clear on this topic. Dating and courtship really didn't exist during ancient times. For the most part, marriages were arranged up until the last century when you get automobiles. The choice of mates was a family decision with little input from the people getting married. In light of this, many Christians have questioned my faith saying things like I want a wife more than I want God's love or will for my life. This is unsettling and troubling for myself because I read about Adam before the Fall and he was seeking companionship amongs the animals. Also, God did state: It is good for man not to be alone. It also states in provers: he who findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtain favor with the Lord." And God allowed for arranged marriages to go on prettty much throughout the Bible, therefore is it wrong to use the services of a marriage agency?

Marriage agencies can be an end to your desires. However, you need to examine if your desires are selfish or serving God. In fact Pope Benedicts XVI's parents meet through an add in the news paper posted by his father which said, "Wanting to date a woman who can cook" ...well, they dated and married four months later. Pope Benedict XVI wrote one of the most beautiful encyclicals about love; so, since he isn't married, I can only conclude his parents shaped some of this. (Check it out (1)). Marriage is good. Yes, it is not good for man to be alone. Marriage is also a gift from God.

Beware of "Mail Order Brides." scams. Marriage agencies can sometimes be a "Sexual Tourism"/ "Brothles"/ "Whore Houses" in disguise ... which isn't Godly. (2)

I will leave you with the hope that you have found a solution to get you the happiness that God wants for you. It is a blessing as long as you understand what a marriage is, how a marriage works, and you are commited to putting in physical, spirtual, and emotional work to honor God through your marriage.

Best wishes.

Most atheists and TRUE Christians will both agree that TRUE marriage is a sacred ceremony usually held between a man and a woman. - And the operative word is "christian" which means - make up anything that is convenient. Now, if a man and a man get married it causes an unbalance in our society. - Only if YOU decide it is your business what some one does in their bed room. If you do the simple math you will find that two women will be without husbands - And if you have ever heard of "war" you would discover that it reduces the male population, so it must be that war creates lesbians. Soon the cycle will continue until everyone is a homosexual. - As absurdly stupid as that is, some one will quote it next week or so. Even the staunchest atheist will have to admit that won't have very good effects on society. - It reduces the stress on limited resources. People will marry animals, lie, cheat, steal, and murder. - Only fundies, the rest of us can actually think.

Not to my knowledge. I cannot say I would recommend it but many marriages of the past were arranged.

I do not see it as wrong at all. I would suggest praying about it and seeing if you feel it is right after "talking" with God.
This is your decision and I do not see how it would interfere with your relationship with God.

No, but it isn't recommended because it might end up in a divorce
