Does Jesus not pray to God in the bible? If he were God then why would he pray to himself?

I have to agree with Kevin.
John 20:27-29 Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing. And Thomas answered and said unto him, My LORD and my God.
Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.
Notice that Jesus did not reprimand Thomas when Thomas said My Lord and my God.
I can give you more scriptures to show that Jesus is indeed God if you are interested.

A Christian is a follower of the teachings of Jesus Christ, right? Did Jesus ever say that God was triune and that he was God the Son, the second person of the so-called godhead? NO! Did he say that the Father, Son, and holy spirit are coequal, co-eternal, and almighty, and that when combined, make up a single God? NOT ONE WORD! So how can a true Christian believe in something that Jesus NEVER taught?

Instead of teaching a trinity or that he was God, Jesus' disciples were with him when he prayed to his Father, saying: "This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ." (John 17:3) So if Jesus said his Father was the ONLY true God, how could he ALSO be the only true God? At John 14:28, Jesus told his followers: "The Father is greater than I am." And at John 10:36, Jesus told his enemies that he was God's Son, NOT God.

So what are TRUE Christians to believe about Jesus? That he is God? Or God's Son? The answer should be clear.

I think that most people who identify with Christ have been convicted by the Holy Spirit that God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit are one of the same mind, perfect in thought and unity, but separate, who fulfill differing purposes in the grand scheme of things. So yes, Jesus is God and His purpose (besides His role in the creation of the Universe) is as Most High Priest to redeem mankind from sin which they brought upon themselves through disobedience. This is not something that the natural man can conceive or believe apart from being convicted by the Holy Spirit. The natural, carnal man would think I am an utter fool for saying such jibberish, but it makes perfect sense to me :)

No, true Christians KNOW Jesus is God.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. All things were created through Him, and apart from Him not one thing was created that has been created.
John 1:1-3

After eight days His disciples were indoors again, and Thomas was with them. Even though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them. He said, “Peace to you!” Then He said to Thomas, “Put your finger here and observe My hands. Reach out your hand and put it into My side. Don’t be an unbeliever, but a believer.” Thomas responded to Him, “My Lord and my God!”
John 20:26-28

I'm a Latter-day Saint, a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Jesus Christ is the God of Israel. Our knowledge that Christ is Jehovah, the God of the Old Testament, has support both in the Bible and in modern-day scripture. Among the strongest biblical evidence that Christ was the God of the Old Testament comes from his own statements to the Jews when he was teaching in the temple in Jerusalem: “Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad. “Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham?

“Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.

“Then took they up stones to cast at him.” (John 8:56–59.) Here Jesus is unequivocally telling them that he is Jehovah, the great “I Am,” as he declared in Exodus 3:14 [Ex. 3:14]. The Jews did not miss the allusion. They thought him blasphemous; that is why they “took up stones to cast at him.”

The Gospel of John also refers to Christ—“the Word”—as the Creator of all things: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

“The same was in the beginning with God.

“All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. …

“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us.” (John 1:1–3, 14.)

The Old Testament identifies the Creator as Jehovah. According to John, therefore, Jesus Christ was Jehovah in premortality.

Paul also identifies Christ as Jehovah, when he alludes to the time when the children of Israel were wandering in the wilderness and Moses brought water from a rock. (Jehovah is often referred to as the Rock of Israel in the Old Testament. See Deut. 31:3–4; 2 Sam. 23:3; Ps. 18:31, 46.)

“All our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; …

“And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.” (1 Cor. 10:1, 4.)

Latter-day Saints believe that Jesus Christ is Jehovah because it is true. It was known to be true anciently, by prophets in both the Old and the New Worlds, and it has been made clear from the very beginning of our own dispensation. The Lord Jesus Christ himself has declared it unequivocally: he is Jehovah, the God of the Old Testament.
