I got in touch with an old friend this week
he is in a famous band , and I hadn't heard from him in 15 years or so , as we lost touch
but I braved it and emailed him at his bands site
and he got in touch and it was very lovely
I learned that a good friend is always a good friend , no matter how many years go by or however their status changes
:o)

What made me smile was seeing people happy going about there business. The only good thing i did was not to manage to mess it up for people....:)

I met someone yesterday who made me smile and I made her smile and laugh too. My friend and I smiled a lot last night as we played a little FIFA and did a little CHIFA:)
I take from the former that one ought never be too shy or unsure when given an opportunity to meet someone new. The girl I met was talking on her cell as we both walked toward the parking lot after a graduate class that we're taking together. I thought it might be the best opportunity to meet her despite the fact that she was trying to call someone. After thinking about that for a few seconds, I decided to take the small risk and interrupt her, "Can I chat with you for a sec after you get off the phone?" We ended up walking to a near-by restaurant and having a couple beers together. It turns out that she is a musician like me and she lives in the same apartment complex! Funny ain't it?

One important thing that happened to me this week would seem like a minor event to most. I had had a stressful day at work with deadlines and last minute emergencies that had to be dealt with as well as the usual pestering by people that I would rather have leave me alone so I can do my job. After I left work I went to the daycare to pick up my youngest daughter who was playing out back in the playground. As soon as she saw me she ran over to me grinning from ear to ear yelling "Daddy!". When she got close enough, I grabbed her and spun her around and then I started to carry her inside to get her things as she called "goodbye" to the other kids and the adults.
This simple moment reminded me that no matter how bad a day at work is, your job does not have to define who you are, a job is a means to an end. Your job is there to pay your bills and provide funds for life. My family is the most important part of my life and is what gives me the most amount of joy.
Blessed Be )O(

I learned I have a penchant for taking advantage of holes in various systems.
Wait, wait, my halo fell off, lemme put it back on...
Also I went to a domestic parternship wedding and it was a very moving experience. Of all the weddings I've ever been invited to, this one was the one I went to the most trouble to attend, and where I felt my presence was most important and appreciated. I left feeling like I'd done something good, just by being there to smile at and hug my friends. The issue of marriage equality also hit home with my husband, and now he's as adamant about it as I am, seeing how much it can mean to people.
I also ran into some old college friends I thought I'd never see again, and it made me really happy.
Been a good week so far.

Look, this is just a blog site for people with too much time on their hands; so don't get upset about anything that happens here. Perhaps you've noticed it's mainly Enlightened Unbelievers bashing Ignorant Christians and Blessed Believers delivering diatribes against Accursed Atheists.

I found an old friend this week too! We've been playing phone tag but it was great to hear his voice after 12 years.
I got a child-free girls night out, a very rare occurance.
There were lots of things that made me smile this week.
I hope that I have spread a few smiles as well.

I was in a car accident last Friday. I returned to work on Tuesday and found out a coworker had told another coworker that if I hadn't gone out and done the "Fonzie" thing on weekends I'd had been alright. He proceeded to say that, yes in fact "Greenwood" was out jumping ravines and didn't; quite stick the landing, like Fonzie...I lost control and slid into Al's Diner. This other coworker bought it hook, line, and sinker until finally someone stated that I did not even own a motorcycle....I laughed heartily at the story when it was told to me....but, it's one of those things you had to be there to see epxressions, the theatrics of how the story was told, etc.
It didn't teach me anything really, but was a gentle reminder that we can make "good" with something that is not so "good"....
Peace, Love, and Blessings

What a coincidence, I also contacted an old friend who is in a band, although not a famous one (yet!). In the UK, can I plug his website, www.ezekielbutler.com. Yes it made me smile, some friends just have that uncanny knack of making you laugh, I feel I don't laugh nearly so much as I should.
It's comforting to know that old friends are still friends.
Something happened at church that was funny to me, and I related it to my best friend and she was in stitches. We still laugh about it.
I guess I've learnt that different things are funny to different people, but that you can find something to make you smile almost anywhere if you are open to it.

Two years ago I moved from Holland to Romania, to be with the girl I love. Romania is very poor, Holland is extremely wealthy, so I miss a lot of things that I'm used with. Especially a variety of food.
This week I found a shop here that sells guacamole sauce! After two years without the taste of guacamole, I found it! So, an entire weekend I spend eating nothing else but nacho chips with guacamole sauce.
Small things can sometimes mean very much.

my oldest daughter finally managed to ride 'the volcano' at king's dominion this week...it may not seem like much, but she tried a number of times last summer and never could quite muster the courage-a couple times she got as far as the front of the line, and once got halfway into buckling up, and broke down in tears, shaking in fear...i was quite proud of her...i know she was still afraid, but she managed to follow through in spite of her fears...
and, this scruffy little puppy i got for the kids earned her keep, in spades-i was in the shed and there was, unbeknown st to me, a large copperhead very near my feet-the pup came in and jumped at the snake, giving me enough warning to take care of the situation...i learned that heroes don't always walk on two legs, and that even the smallest of us can be a hero to the largest!
