with all the advancements in science, including evolution, etc etc, why do people still follow christianity? I don't understand.

Some people still actually believe the earth is only 6000 years old, when science has proven the earth to be millions/billions of years old. Why is this? Stupidity?

There are a lot of sheep in the world... Too lazy to do basic research, or study science. They prefer faith to reality, must be nice to have god to thank and blame for everything that happens to you. LOL droolers!

Sounds like science is your religion.

It isn't that we don't understand science and evolution. We understand it perfectly! We just reject evolution, that's all.

The vast majority of us went to the Temple of Evolution (Public School) for all of our education. I was born, raised, and educated in an atheist home. I knew no Christians (that I was aware of) growing up.

I learned all about evolution in public school, and even *gasp* in college! I took evolutionary biology, and passed with flying colors! I took CLEP for the rest. (Got six semester hours of credit that way.)

It was only later that I came to Christ. Comparing the Bible with what I knew about evolution, I decided that it took more faith to believe the evolution lie.

There are no witnesses to what occurred during creation, and anything that man comes up with is a theory, and unable to be proven through a scientific process, which requires the scientific method.

The scientific method requires:

# 1. Observe some aspect of the universe.

# 2. Invent a tentative description, called a hypothesis, that is consistent with what you have observed.

# 3. Use the hypothesis to make predictions.

# 4. Test those predictions by experiments or further observations and modify the hypothesis in the light of your results.

# 5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 until there are no discrepancies between theory and experiment and/or observation. (Or lie about the results to continue receiving the government grants.)

But this is supposed to be based on observable facts. Evolution cannot achieve this using the traditional scientific method. What does that leave?

Faith.

Just like those he criticizes for following myths, the evolutionist is practicing his faith. The evolutionist believes in the theory. They have their own scriptures, and apologea. And woe unto those who knowingly or unknowing tread on "holy" ground. They'll eat you alive. You'd think for all their vitriol, that you were in a church full of hypocrites.

i don't personally know anyone who follows 'christianity'...i do, however, know a lot of people who follow Christ...and not one of them would trade their life for anything-does the age of the earth really matter? can you worship science? can science comfort you when grief strikes you to your core, when you're all alone with no one to care, when there seems to be no answers for the things that trouble you? can science make your heart sing with inexplicable joy? does science love you, no matter who or where you are, even when no one else does? will science always be there for you, even beyond the grave? Christ can do all those things and more...science is a wonderful thing and is very useful in describing 'how'...but science stinks at explaining 'why'...

science tells you its millions/billions years so you believe them? Exactly! You have faith in scientists just like we have faith in our God! We still follow Christianity because God has been here forever! As humans we can't comprehend this, but when we die we will be able to understand. God has showed himself to me many times, and he's always been there for me. He sent his son to die for you and for me, for everyone. That's a sacrafice no one would want to make. I know I would hate to lose my children by my own decision, but God did that for us because he loves us. Why do you believe in science? How did the earth come to be? If you think that the earth has just been there forever, why can't you believe God has been there forever? Some people argue that. God is watching over you and he wants you to follow him! It's not stupidity. I can promise you if you turn to God, your life will be a lot better! I'm not saying it will be perfect, you will still have troubles, but you will have someone you know will always be there for you and you can always look up to for answers and will always listen when you call. Don't be stubborn, it says in Romans 12:2 says,
"Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is-his good pleasing and perfect will."
Take it to heart and God bless you!

You can't prove anything that happened in the past. You make assumptions about processes occurring now. You assume that radioactive decay has occurred at the same rate, even though we can make the rates hundreds of times faster in the lab. You have no proof that this assumption is valid, so you can't prove anything. No one, not even creationists, can scientifically prove anything in history bc there will always be unprovable assumptions involved since we weren't there. God was, however, and since He can't lie, I think His Word is reliable.

Why do you single out Christianity ? Make a study of the other religions. They make just about as much sense. Zero

The reason is that Jesus Christ promised that his words would never pass away, no matter how much the world wants to get rid of Christianity.

I see no conflict with science and religion, since they have two different purposes. I believe that fiath and reason are gifts from God. God bless you!

We follow Jesus...not a religion....get a clue....

"From the beginning of the Creation God made them male and female..."-- Jesus (Mk. 10:6)

Scripture says God SPOKE all things into existence with His Word:
" By the Word of the Lord were the heavens created, and all the host of them by the breath of His mouth.... For HE SPAKE AND IT WAS DONE; HE COMMANDED AND IT STOOD FAST". (psalm 33:6-9)
