My husband and I work with a woman and received an announcement of her graduation. We work in a small, family like office. We don't want to break the bank as I've never even met her. How much should we give and is it ok to give a check?

is there a graduation party planned or was it just an announcment? if it was just an announcment then do not feel obligated to give anything.

$5 bucks. I think its rude to send out graduation announcements to people you have never met. I agree with the person above me to feel obligated to give anything.

Considering, you never met her, I would just tell the parents congratulations. I never got anything from my mom's co-workers, not even the ones I knew.

Sure, it's okay to give a check. I'd give her no more than $25.

I think it's like a wedding, $100 for a couple to give.
