I told him that even though we are hardy stock and well above average IQ in our mostly Irish, English and Native American family the fact that my daughter chose a Black man as her mate contributed greatly to my grandson's physical prowness. I told him that slaves were kidnapped and sold for their strength and coordination and that because of the beginning taboos and laws against inter-racial relationships, his athletic ability was not watered down by a bunch of inbred cousins of massa's. Before you make the assumption that he is all brawn, no brains, he was not only courted and flown all over the country as a Division 1 Basketball recruit, but he made the National Honor Roll Society and had many academic offers as well. So did his father. Full ride, thanks to keeping the best of both races genes. This was in response to a question he asked me some time ago about why most sport stand-outs are Black. That is when I told him the racists were responsible. You will see him on TV soon.

We know that in the OT there were plural marriages, and we know that in the NT there were not. When did that change occur. Where in the Bible does it discuss how many wives a man should have?

And before anyone starts...nope, I'm not Mormon, nope, I'm not interesting in joining a plural mariage, I just have an insane curiosity level.

Somehow I don't believe they're "the same thing", even if Yeshua does *translate* into "Jesus". I mean, think about it... all our modern names today have some kind of etymological history/meaning.

Take the name "David", for example. It means "beloved", but we don't *call* David "beloved". We call David, David. See where I'm getting at?

I don't know, maybe i have the whole meaning/translation thing all mixed up, can someone enlighten me?

Your birth was no mistake or mishap, and your life is no fluke of nature. Your parents may not have planned you, but that does not mean God didn't plan you. He works even through human error and failings, and He was not surprised by your birth; in fact, He expected it.

It is not fate, nor chance, nor luck, nor coincidence that you are breathing at this very moment. YOU ARE ALIVE BECAUSE GOD WANTED YOU TO LIVE. The Bible says, "The LORD will fulfill His purpose for me."

I was sent this poem via email this morning.I have the authors permission to post it on here as I said I'd like to share it.
It was written by a regular in seniors but I don't know if she is willing to say it was her. We've been mailing each other for just a couple of weeks and I already think of her as my friend, ( You know who you are, so come and claim the praise you deserve for what I think is a masterpiece) I'm very touched that she noticed I was missing.

It's been 12 hours since you posted anything on YA.
Are you okay?
We rely on you and essentially will
hate to see you come down ill!

Your sunny smile, your pink hair
are expected to always BE there.
Your funny stories, risque or not
have become each day's one bright spot.

Come back to us--don't be shy.
Or are you taking time out for your guy?
That charming and wonderful 68 yr old stud,
who makes your heart heart beat heavily-THUD!

This poem is only getty worse.
My sytax is terrible, along with my verse.
But at least it says what I'm trying to say--
"Where are you Syl? I miss you today!"

Is such reporting more than an abuse of YahooAnswers? If you believe in God, what do you think He thinks of such actions? If you are not religious, does such activity convince you to become religious? How would you characterize such behavior?

Where does it say Jesus is Michael!
“At that time Michael shall stand up, The great prince who stands watch over the sons of your people Dan.12:1
But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days; and behold, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I had been left alone there with the kings of Persia. Dan.10:13
Yet Michael the archangel, in contending with the devil, when he disputed about the body of Moses, dared not bring against him a reviling accusation, but said, “The Lord rebuke you!”Jude 9
Jesus is not a prince: These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, for He is Lord of lords and King of kings; and those who are with Him are called, chosen, and faithful.” Revelation 17:14
Jesus is not an angel He is God in the flesh!
In Jude 9 michael did not rebuke the devil. Michael said,"The Lord rebuke you!
Jesus told the devil: Then Jesus said to him, “Away with you, Satan! Matthew 4:10

In other words, is it human nature to invent concepts that seem to give us life energy, a reason to be, and for these concepts to exist only because they have something to oppose? Like socialism opposes capitalism? Like Islamic fundamentalism opposes western democratic reform? Say you were born in a utopia, a place where people live in harmony with their environment and each other. No crime, no politics, no lies, no money and most importantly, no religion. Technically, you would be an Atheist, but the word would have no meaning, wouldn’t it?

My niece who is 21 has been told she is not allowed to have children (she was born with 2 main aorta valves and has had 2 open heart surgeries) the pregnancy will put a strain on her heart and could cause her to have a heart attack.

My daughter, (who only wants 2 children), after she has her next child has offered to be a surragate mother for my niece so she can become a mother, they are very close, like sisters

Would God approve or not?

I have to make a speech to eight hundred teenagers this summer, not including all of the adults that will be there as well.
I normally avoid public speaking like the plague but I can't back out of this one...do you have any tips for me to not be so nervous or figity when I speak?
Also, what should I wear? It's not a formal conference but I want to look nice... (I'm a female, if that helps at all...)

Is Jesus judged according to His own words, or is He exempt? Does He follow His own teachings? He warned us vehemently about hypocrisy...what about Himself? If He is judged by His words...this could change the way the Gospels might be interpreted. Could it be? Is this part of the strict judgment He recieved? May God have mercy on Him , then, and the remainder of us, as well!

My Fi's nephew is going to be in our wedding. He is 4. Our ceremony is in the late afternoon and our reception is in the evening.

I know his nephew probably will not make it through the reception. The problem is, I don't want my BIL and SIL to have to leave early. Especially since my BIL will be best man.

Normally, they do not take the little boy to weddings, even if he's invited. They tend to leave him with a family member. But, b/c it's his uncle getting married and he's in the wedding, I'm postitive they are bring him to the reception.

I was thinking about addressing the issue of them leaving early. I was thinking about suggesting that the boy's other grandmother pick him up from the reception if he gets tired.

I just don't know how to approach his. I don't want them to think I don't want my new nephew there, b/c I do. But, I understand kids get tired. Yet, I dont' want to be rude or imposing of their other family members by suggesting they pick
