I was sent this poem via email this morning.I have the authors permission to post it on here as I said I'd like to share it.
It was written by a regular in seniors but I don't know if she is willing to say it was her. We've been mailing each other for just a couple of weeks and I already think of her as my friend, ( You know who you are, so come and claim the praise you deserve for what I think is a masterpiece) I'm very touched that she noticed I was missing.

It's been 12 hours since you posted anything on YA.
Are you okay?
We rely on you and essentially will
hate to see you come down ill!

Your sunny smile, your pink hair
are expected to always BE there.
Your funny stories, risque or not
have become each day's one bright spot.

Come back to us--don't be shy.
Or are you taking time out for your guy?
That charming and wonderful 68 yr old stud,
who makes your heart heart beat heavily-THUD!

This poem is only getty worse.
My sytax is terrible, along with my verse.
But at least it says what I'm trying to say--
"Where are you Syl? I miss you today!"

This poem is only getting worse.

It wasn't meant to be a poem. It was actually just going to be a letter, like usual. But the first two lines switched something on in my head, and I just went with it.

It is corny--but then Syl is a corny kind of girl--loving and funny and caring and sweet. She shares so much of herself with us, and encourages us to do the same.

Ultimately, the poem made me smile when I wrote it. And was meant to make Syl smile when she read it. If it has accomplished that, then it was worth it.

It is always nice when someone takes the time to write you a poem! That means you are in their thoughts and you have possibly made there day so they took the time to put their words to rhyme! I liked it but I am a lover of poetry anykind!

I think your poem truly is very lovely. It comes from someone who obviously really treasures your friendship. My friends and I are always coming up with jokes for each other, but when someone does something like this, it means more, it is different. Please pass my many compliments onto this poem's brilliant author.

Yours Truly,

It's kind of corny but I'd be really pleased if someone wrote me a poem, it would have made my day too.

It was really sweet of your e-pal to write to you in verse. She'll never be Poet Laureate, but so what? She's having fun with rhyme and so are you.

Hardly a masterpeice, but different things appeal to different people. The good thing about it is that somebody made the effort to make you feel good.
