My girlfriends dad was Mormon, some how they know my girlfriends name and the kids and our address. How do you get on the 'Mormon, "do not knock list?" or how do we get off their list as Mormons? I have never been Mormon, and my girlfriend and her kids are converting to Christianity.

Just being curious, but why does religion (in general) in ireland and poland (such as the stable rate of church attendance which is more than 50%, and its strong influence to politics) so strong even though the country is so strong and rich compared to other European countries who are getting richer and richer (like the Scandinavians) but the religious influence, particularly to the people, is very weak (like church attendance is weak and full acceptance of abortion)?

I think most of us would have more compassion than this deity that's paraded around as Love.

When anyone brings up the contradictions of a loving god and the existence of hell, we get a load of contradictory ******** about how people make their choice and how god is loving, blah blah blah. Is this similar to how abused kids defend their abusive parent?

It seems as if the dude needs to be stabilized -- one page in the bible he's loving his children and the next he's smiting them.

A feature on the Heaven & Earth show today was about a rich American couple who have bought a large area of undeveloped land in Argentina. They are working hard to conserve this vast wildlife area. However the Catholic church is encouraging people to protest against foreigners buying the land. People are marching in protest against these Americans, and when interview stated that they didn't want any foreingners buying the land, especially American's. The couple (Thompkins) are acting to conserve the wildlife on this land and have said after a number of years will give it to the Argentinian government. I have put this in the R & S section because it was an issue of why the church is promoting people against this couple.. The panel said it was political or jelousey or competativeness since the church also ownes land, but a farce since the couples intent is to conserve the many unique wildlife species in that area.

Do animals go to heaven when they die?

Please don't just give a yes/no answer. Those are useless. Please provide evidence to support your point of view.

I am a Christian and I am Jewish by birth. I dont think I could ever marry a Muslim because what if a radical fervor swept the nation and Jews and Christians were on the wrong end of the PR opinion polls? What if he took me to his country and then swore we would nvr return to the USA or Israel ? What if he suddenly began to enforce Shia law on me ?

It took me 3 years with a good CBT therapist. The horrors with respect to self image and guilt related to sex and other areas were overwhelming. Thank God I'm free! For those who aren't supporting their delusions, how long did it take you?

Is Scientology really a "religion?" Or is it just a front or is the reason they are legally called a "religion" so they can ask you to PAY MONEY for any services and justify it by telling you "but you can use this as a tax write-off!" ? If I go to my church for help (or anyone else) they HELP without asking you to PAY money!!

Etymology and Use
The word Calvary comes from the Latin Calvaria and means "a skull". Calvaria and the Gr. Kranion are equivalents for the original Golgotha. The ingenious conjecture that Golgotha may be a contraction for Gol Goatha and may accordingly have signified "mount of execution", and been related to Goatha in Jer., xxxi, 39, has found scarcely any supporters. The diminutive monticulus (little mount) was coupled with the name A.D. 333 by the "Pilgrim of Bordeaux".

I wonder if we should notify the Calvary Chapel they might want to think about a name change as that particular communty teaches a some what anti-Catholic message.

BTW the original Calvary Chapel was also a Catholic building and did you also know the word chapel is also of Catholic origin, I guess we can at least say they are consistent in their acts of robbery. More to come on chapel in my next series of questions

I recently watched this guy on SkyAngel named Michael Rood on his show "A Rood Awakening." He revealed how Constantine's mother incorporated the pagan rituals with newly Christian beliefs about Jesus and all. I had heard a little of things like this before, but nothing so clear. It is obvious to me now how much God hates paganistic rituals and holidays. Now that I know this, should I stop celebrating Christmas and Easter and start celebrating the holidays that God, Himself gave to His people, like Passover? I am seriously asking and do not want any stupid responses.

Just curious...I know of the "main" religions, but I'm sure there are so many that I do not know of and have not experienced. What are the actual numbers, if anybody knows.
