My daughter is just starting to think about boys and she's just started to develop physcially, I"m not sure if she's sure about her sexuallity becasue she's asked me about it a few times. I'm not sure if she's asking about herself or me?

after about 2000 years, a lot of signs have followed. When Jesus said this generation will nto pass away until all thses things are fullfilled, did he mean that the generation that saw Israel return to thier land will be the generaion that will see his return? Please if there is any bible schollors out there, please explain this. Every generation has thought they will be the last ones even Aposile Paul, but there has one been one generation that has seen Israel back in her land and that generation is this one. Christians, preferable pastors and scholors please explain(sound like Pauline Hanson) I believe this is an important question. Will this generation see the rapture of the church?

"The Veil" by Dawud Wharnby Ali
listen to song: http://www.lightuponlight.com/islam/modules.php?name=Stream2&file=index&lid=384

They say, "Oh, poor girl, you're so beautiful you know
It's a shame that you cover up your beauty so."
She just smiles and graciously responds reassuringly,
"This beauty that I have is just one simple part of me.
This body that I have, no stranger has the right to see.
These long clothes, this shawl I wear, ensure my modesty.
Faith is more essential than fashion, wouldn't you agree?

This hijab,
This mark of piety,
Is an act of faith, a symbol,
For all the world to see.
A simple cloth, to protect her dignity.
So lift the veil from your heart to see the heart of purity.
They tell her, "Girl, don't you know this is the West and you are free?
You don't need to be opressed, ashamed of your femininity."
She just shakes her head and she speaks so assuredly,
"See the bill-boards and the magazines that line the check-out isles, with their phony painted faces and their air-brushed smiles?
Well their sheer clothes and low cut gowns are really not for me.
You call it freedom, I call it anarchy."
This hijab,
This mark of piety,
Is an act of faith, a symbol,
For all the world to see.
A simple cloth, to protect her dignity.
So lift the veil from your heart to see the heart of purity.
They say, “Sister of Belief, you are so strong; Your scarf is a flag of this faith where you belong. She just smiles and drops her gaze and then, says with humility, “I did not wear this shawl at all less than one year ago. I’ve been judged, misjudged, and misunderstood by those who do not know that faith cannot be measured by the garments that we sew. Beauty and Faith: objects reduced to a fashion show,
This hijab,
This mark of piety,
Is an act of faith, a symbol,
Between my God and me.
A simple cloth, to preserve her dignity.
So lift the veil from your heart to see the heart of purity.
Lift the veil from your heart and seek the heart of purity.

Torture is controversial. Most people will say it's wrong to torture people yet many of those same people will say it's okay to execute certain people? Is there hypocrisy in this? I'm also wondering if removing an arm for theft is considered torture? It seems there is a big gap in punishment. You either stay in jail and are treated relatively humanely or you are killed. Is there really no in-between? Should execution be stopped and torture to some extent be allowed? Or should we just settle for jail time as the Europeans do?

Or is execution (sending someone to hell in the eyes of some) actually humane? If there is no 'life' after death then execution might be considered more humane than sending someone to hell. If we torture aren't we really doing the work of the devil?

Please, lets talk about Thomas Paine or Voltaire or Jefferson. At least those people had some logic and understanding of religion. I mean c'mon, you've had 2,000 years to disprove the New Testament and the best you can come up with is Dawkins? I much rather would have lived in the 1700s when people could at least pose a challenge to Christianity. Maybe I will subsitute the word "illogical" for "Dawkins", it would be a good euphemism I think."You are a very Dawkins person". Hmmm sounds good. Maybe I am just too hard on the man, maybe it is just his writing that is poor. Maybe he is much more logical in person. Jefferson was the exact opposite, you know, he wrote great but was a horrible speaker. Its a shame the Age of Englightenment ended, the debates back then would have been so much more interesting. Have any of you actually read Age of Reason? How could you possibly enjoy Dawkins after reading Age of Reason? Thats like going from Tolstoy to.... childrens pop-up books. C'mon.

STOCKHOLM (AFP) - Swedish authorities have granted three families the right to screen embryos to create a child who can be a stem cell donor for a sibling with a deadly illness, officials said on Monday.
The Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare has approved the highly-controversial procedure for three families whose children risk dying unless they receive a transplant of healthy stem cells from a sibling with a tissue match.

Under the procedure, an embryo is tested in vitro for a desired genotype before implantation into the uterus, in what is called preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD).

That has been allowed for some time in Sweden, in particular to screen for single-gene diseases such as cystic fibrosis as well as chromosomal abnormalities such as Down's Syndrome.

The New Encyclopædia Britannica says: “Neither the word Trinity, nor the explicit doctrine as such, appears in the New Testament, nor did Jesus and his followers intend to contradict the Shema in the Old Testament: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord’ (Deut. 6:4). . . . The doctrine developed gradually over several centuries and through many controversies. . . . By the end of the 4th century . . . the doctrine of the Trinity took substantially the form it has maintained ever since.”—(1976), Micropædia, Vol. X, p. 126.

The New Catholic Encyclopedia states: “The formulation ‘one God in three Persons’ was not solidly established, certainly not fully assimilated into Christian life and its profession of faith, prior to the end of the 4th century. But it is precisely this formulation that has first claim to the title the Trinitarian dogma. Among the Apostolic Fathers, there had been nothing even remotely approaching such a mentality or perspective.”—(1967), Vol. XIV, p. 299.

In The Encyclopedia Americana we read: “Christianity derived from Judaism and Judaism was strictly Unitarian [believing that God is one person]. The road which led from Jerusalem to Nicea was scarcely a straight one. Fourth century Trinitarianism did not reflect accurately early Christian teaching regarding the nature of God; it was, on the contrary, a deviation from this teaching.”—(1956), Vol. XXVII, p. 294L.

According to the Nouveau Dictionnaire Universel, “The Platonic trinity, itself merely a rearrangement of older trinities dating back to earlier peoples, appears to be the rational philosophic trinity of attributes that gave birth to the three hypostases or divine persons taught by the Christian churches. . . . This Greek philosopher’s [Plato, fourth century B.C.E.] conception of the divine trinity . . . can be found in all the ancient [pagan] religions.”—(Paris, 1865-1870), edited by M. Lachâtre, Vol. 2, p. 1467.

John L. McKenzie, S.J., in his Dictionary of the Bible, says: “The trinity of persons within the unity of nature is defined in terms of ‘person’ and ‘nature’ which are G[ree]k philosophical terms; actually the terms do not appear in the Bible. The trinitarian definitions arose as the result of long controversies in which these terms and others such as ‘essence’ and ‘substance’ were erroneously applied to God by some theologians.”—(New York, 1965), p. 899.

Like my apartment building used to be the churches school. Anyways, a few days ago I was looking out my window to see two elderly nuns fighting. Like hitting and yelling at each other. My mother wanted to call the priest and let him know but I told her not to because it was none of our business. I am not making this up. This is absolute true story. I was shocked as hell to see it. What the heck could two nuns have to fight about that was so bad they had to duke it out on the street? I'm not trying to be disrespectful or anything but what the heck is up with that?

Well does a treatment or therapy exist that can help a person that's gay turn straight.. I was just wondering if anything did exist that could help me and help my relationship with my family and my personal well being as in having confidence or not feeling sad all the time or not being afraid of what I do in front of people so they won't suspect I'm gay.. Stuff like that... just wondering ;)

Most of religious christians vote Republican and they are for capital punishment. Some of these murderers are actuall innocent, others have repented, but nobody cares, The State kills 'em anyway. But if a stem cell does not see, hear, taste, feel, or think but could save somebody's life. You can't have it both ways. Taking a life is taking a life.

because it worse than murder? ok enough with my sarcasm but seriously...It just seems awkward because their god forces them to spill the seed anyways.
For example:
Females losing their egg through the menstrual cycle and Males losing over a million sperm for procreation.
