Have you seen green grasshoppers and brown ones (crickets)?

Have you noticed that the green grasshoppers always live and roam only through grass fields and vegetation thats almost green in color?

while the brown grasshoppers always invade dry scrub and bushes that are gone brown due to lack of rain?

10 years ago during a visit to South Africa I noticed that when it is pitch dark at nights how some grasshoppers come out from nearby bushes, and the funny thing i noticed about these insects was that they were black in color as well.

The wonder of evolution is that it has given green, brown and black grasshoppers a chance to ward off predators and survive.

Dear friends why dont we all learn the wonders of the natural world and how evolution works ?

Is that what you are really trying to do? Do you really wish to try to "save" others out of pure, genuine kindness. Or is it because you feel it is an obligation to what you believe. Or perhaps in smaller cases that you feel empowered saying that to to others.

What do you think?

Most kids stop believing in Santa when they are between 6 and 10 years old, yet there is lots of evidence that Santa exists, there are lots of pictures, he has lots of people who represent him dressed as him, you can go and visit him in Lapland, Reindeers are real, most homes wake on a christmas morning with evidence of his visit (apart from those on Merseyside that were cleared out by burglars).

Yet we dismiss Santa at a very early age.

But...God has none of these things in his favour, all we have is an old book written 1000s of years ago, and yet people steadfastly believe.

Now I am clearly not saying I believe in Santa, but I am simply pointing out what many people will see as a logical link between the two beliefs, and how daft they both are.

Isn't it time you god fearing folk all grew up and started to focus on more important things, imagine what we could acheive in the world if instead of raising funds for church matters, we raised funds to feed to poor? Get a grip.

This guy i loved to death. He said he was gay he was pretty sure of it and he said he loved me. Now is love just a term that is thrown around nowadays? Because I seriously from the bottom of my heart loved him. Anyway, my question is Why after being together so long did he suddenly start ignoring me... I called him up and he simply said "It's over" then hung up on me and never answered my calls. This was a while back and after all that happened I had troubles sleeping and eating for about a month after. I mean i just dont understand why we couldnt atleast be friends. I mean we had troubles in the past but all i wanted was for him to be happy. He didnt seem happy when i last heard from him so i just wanted to atleast keep in touch with him. Now i just dont know what to do. I still have troubles sleeping sometimes when i get to thinking about him... I just dont understand why i cant move on... any advice? and dont say "Move on" because that never works and you know it! lol

life has evolved in different ways. for example a cat seesthins differntly, and is almost blind during the day. At night it regains its correct vision. It happens because when cats were in the wild nights were the best times to hunt for food. They hid during the day to ward of predators, which gave cats a chance to survive

who says evolution is not true?

So I get a email on Myspace from a girl, telling me that my boyfriend/babys daddy wrote her last night (a perfect stranger) Asking her if she was down with hooking up.

My boyfriend claims he did not write her at all. He also claims that the same letter she received was set to several other people including men ?? wtf

I have not seen proof regarding "the other letters"

The girl who contacted me sent me a copy of the letter she received from him.

So he claims he did not write this girl. He says someone else did this from his account.

So I have two questions

Do you believe him?

Why would a hacker write a boody call letter?

As a parent of three kids aged 2,4 & 10, all of them raised as atheists, I can tell you that they love to be good not just for the sake of pleasing their parents, but because they seem to recognise that it makes their fun together more enjoyable.

If the little ones are given two biscuits or lollies, they will usually give one to the other without prompting.

If we buy something for the 4 year old girl, she will often ask if we can get one for her 10 year old sister as well.

When we eat out, we regularly have people come to our table and compliment us on how well behaved our kids are.

All without the slightest suggestion in their lives of some magical creator or God figure.

[oas:casperstartribune.net/news/wyoming:Middle1]
COKEVILLE -- More than being survivors, many of the former students and teachers at Cokeville Elementary School believe they were something else on May 16, 1986: witnesses to miracles.

The theme of being witness to miracles, and to a higher power, is so compelling in this predominantly Mormon community that a book of the same title has been published.

People held hostage at the school have stories of seeing angels, of being told by them what to do, and of divine intervention being unquestionably a part of that spring day.

JaNene Nostaja, the mother of a child held hostage, was serving as an emergency technician that day, and she remembers seeing the schoolroom where the kids and teachers were held hostage the next day.

"When I saw the shrapnel in all the walls, embedded in the ceiling ... and not one kid got hurt?" she said. "When we stood and looked at the wall -- there's no way."

There's no way, she said, there wasn't divine intervention.

Nostaja also said the day after the bombing, the entire room was caked in black. But on one of the walls was a white outline of Christ.

"There's some of all religion in Cokeville," Nostaja said. "Whatever religion, they knew they had been blessed and protected that day."

Kliss Sparks, a former teacher, said she, too, saw the white outline.

"I saw it, too," said Celeste Excell Jackman, now 32, then a sixth-grader at Cokeville Elementary.

Jackman doesn't particularly enjoy talking about the incident of 1986. She doesn't like to be in the spotlight, and says the hostage event is not the "main focus of my life."

But she is willing to share the story as a way to talk about God's love, and a way to talk about miracles.

Many survivors talk about seeing guardian angels in the schoolroom -- one for each person. The idea of angels protecting people was the subject of a book and a television movie, "When Angels Intervene to Save the Children."

Sharon Dayton, director of the Cokeville Miracle Foundation, said there were about 10 people who talked about angels in the room. Hostages received "instructions" from them, and feelings of peace and love.

Before the bomb went off, the angels surrounded the bomb to protect people, Dayton said.

Some people later recognized their angels in old photos, saying they were family members who had died years before.

"We're really talking about a Cokeville miracle," he said.

Karla Toomer, Cokeville mayor who was also instrumental in putting together the new book, said most everyone talks about "heavenly help."

"When they heard what was really going on and what was supposed to happen, everyone talks about heavenly help," she said. "Everyone says, 'Of course there was help.' Each kid getting out was a miracle. Angels being visible is a miracle."

Sparks said when she left the room after the bomb exploded, there were two boys in the hall whose hair was on fire.

"I put it out," she said. "I knew then, somebody was taking care of us. When I saw the bomb had not gone off in the way it should have, I knew then."

Jackman agreed. "I was being told what to do, or I wouldn't have known what to do."

I need some friendly advice because I’m new to dating. I’m a gay virgin male in his early 20's and I’m talking to a guy online in his early 30's long distance who seems like my opposite in every aspect of our lives. He seems like the man of my dreams but then I think about reality and where I’m at now in life. I am a broken person inside and out. I come from a rough background but he’s willing to take me as I am and assist me. This man seems greater than who I am, he does things that I’ve always wanted to do like travel but I have an anxiety issues. If I end up with him things for me could either be really good or end up being really bad. I think more about the bad because it would take me away from family and I’m not sure if I can really trust or depend on him to not take advantage of my weaknesses. He’s extremely attractive too, the model type. He has given me some great advice but I feel totally unprepared to be in a relationship with him. I had turned him down but then I came back

am I leaning to? As see self as spiritual & would like to read about a religion similar to my views. I see life as your life no one else's, don't care about anything (but do care if know what I mean?), what will be will be but still control own destiny, freedom is there, what you give out you will get back, people deserve what they get, no compassion but compassion.
