because it worse than murder? ok enough with my sarcasm but seriously...It just seems awkward because their god forces them to spill the seed anyways.
For example:
Females losing their egg through the menstrual cycle and Males losing over a million sperm for procreation.

You shouldn't let the Christian Rule dictate how you feel about masturbation. I look at this as human nature. Masturbation and sexual arousals has been around since mankind was created. Long before the bible was ever created. So it's no crime for self-gratification. But according to the Christianity, it appears to be decided into law. But understand that their laws are based their opinons. Not fact.

Let us put aside all the religions of the world for a time being.Let us discuss the medical aspects the masturbation.First of all a person who is not having a sexual partner can do nothing to release his/her sexual tension except masturbation. If suppose he/she does not masturbate his/her sexual tension will go on increasing and he/she might do all sorts of wrong deeds. For example a man/boy may commit indecent assault/rape on a girl/woman.Or he may turn violent towards society or his mental balance may go wrong.A girl/ woman who is not getting sexual satisfaction either because she is unmarried or being married but not getting enough satisfaction may commit adultery/fornication.She may become mentally irritable.
When there is no way of releasing sexual tension, masturbation is the only way by which this ever mounting tension may be safely released.By masturbation when this tension is released a person becomes relaxed physically as well as mentally.By doing so atleast there is one correct feeling that you have not done anything wrong with somebody or destroyed the life of somebody by making her/him indulge in immorality.
Masturbation is wrong only if it is done inspite of an opportunity for normal intercourse. It is also wrong if the frequency is more.
In fact it is advisable to perform masturbation when a person has to remain far away from his/her spouse for a long period of time.
Also a lot of misconceptions are ther about masturbation like it makes a person impotent in his married life or like one drop of semen is equal to 21 drops of blood or dark rings under the eyes are due to it etc.all are wrong.

Masturbating is good for sperm. When a man masturbates, he gets rid of old sperm and makes room for new sperm. This increases the chances of pregnancy if he then has sex with a woman. Of course, if he doesn't masturbate, his body will force him to get rid of that sperm anyway through wet dreams. You can't fight nature. As far as the bible goes, I never found a specific reference to masturbation. The part about spilling your seed was in reference to pulling out during sex.

Wow! Did I write that much about masturbation?

The idea is NOT supported by scripture. The only reason some people think that is because of the story of Onan in Genesis 38.

However, Onan was NOT put to death because he spilled his seed; it was because he disobeyed God.

I know some Christians who think it's wrong and some who think otherwise. I personally do not think it's wrong . I believe it is a natural thing and can actually keep you from sinning.I am a Christian by the way. God Bless!!!

No it's not "wrong" according to Christianity .. .it is only some quarters of Christianity that say it is "wrong" . . . and they are largely ignorant. And if anybody brings up the bible story of "Onan" spilling his seed . .. that story is about the violation of the law regarding levirate marriage .. NOT masturbation.

That is ridiculous. I can't speak for females, but according to my urologist males need to for urogenital health. Following arcane religious rules from eons past only makes you look cretinous. Don't you have any pride?

Well of course masturbating is wrong because the sole result of it is pleasure. Them christians don't care too much for physical pleasure. Our sexuality serves only one purpose and that is to procreate. Enjoying oneself in such a way that relieves stress and brings pleasure is, well..... damnable!!!! You can't be selfish and be christian at the same time......right???

It doesn't seem to be specifically mentioned.

We are supposed to crucify the desires and passions in Christ though. (Galatians 5:24) This is pathema - inner afflictions/sufferings - and epithumia - turning about periods of sudden rage or passion that are maddening like wine. This is repeated in James 1:14. It says that we are "drawn out" by epithumia. In contrast, our emotions are supposed to run along the lines described in James 4 where laughter is turned to mourning. Proverbs 14:13 - "Even in laughter the heart may ache, and rejoicing may end in grief."

This is contrast to prophecy, which is fulfilled. The pro in prophecy means "in favour of, without necessarily being affiliated with." The phetes means "speaker." Therefore, prophecy either means to speak in favour of, or to be in favour of speaking. Either way, to fulfil means to "carry out or bring to realisation." Therefore, it is filled up so that carrying out is enabled, rather than drawing out. Normally, people seem to get their license to speak from the prevailing mythology as espoused by many teachers (2 Timothy 4:3, 4) but Christians are repeatedly told to stop talking, which they refuse to do on the basis that they must obey God rather than men. (Acts 5:29) Therefore, they had better know what they are talking about, and it's not supposed to be about their own pleasures, seeing as this is a sign of the last days and an indicator of false Christianity. 2 Timothy 3:1-5 says: "But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people."

Of course masturbation is wrong according to Christianity. The rule of law in Christianity basically says that if it feels good it's bad. This is why Christianity has found a place among repressive religions.
