"Gotharito" has a slightly negative racial slur implied in it (and a music/clothing-choice insult, but I'm not sure if he spoke that unusual mixture of syllables with malicious intent.
Certainly not on par with the "N" word, or other duragatory terms I won't dignify by mentioning...
You should have shot back...
Hey! I'm a "Gotharino," not a "Gotharito," substituting the latin tail of the word with an Italian one just to confuse him with some of his own culturally slurring methodology..."and this is my friend John "The Gotharato...we're much more than just chips and salsa, and dark clothing style, baby boy...and from now on, we're gonna call you the "Smallpenusissio..."
LOL...
I think the healthy and appropriate reaction to his comment was to laugh, and take it with amusing stride and confident non-chalance (and by the way, that kind of reaction works with almost any verbal encounter...negative people hate it when people laugh at their insult attempts...it takes all the power away from their verbal attack, makes them look like they'r the ones that personify the very insult they're hurtling in your direction) and just from the way you described your reaction means you're a pretty solid person who already knows that sticks and stones may break your bones...
But being called a ludicrous name like "Gotharito" can't even put a dent in your strong and proud psyche...
Be gentle with the racial idiots of the world when possible...
They got that way because nobody was ever gentle with them when they were growing up, and their lives are filled with disdain, dislike, and hatred for other people...
The only thing sadder than them, are their feeble attempts to spread their ludicrous, racially-based anger and resentment to other people...
Also known as...
"The Peopleenos..." much lol to you...your street encounter story cracked me up...

"Wow, and you're...skatarito? So when is there going to have a packaging with a chip on a skateboard?" ROFL. Sorry, was looking at the long winded explanation which actually is amusing. Perhaps it is a slurr but...for trends? Pshh, nothing else to do or something? "Yo Skaterito, ni ben dan!" (you, stupid) "Nee - burn- thun!") <--Chinese

Yeah, so I asked my skater son and he's never heard the word before. Your neighbor kid is a dork.

I think he meant a pair of goths. Gotharito. I'm most likely wrong but I think he was implying that your a couple of goths. I've never heard that word in my life.
