Me and my friend lit one of the 20 foot Chinese firecrackers as it was tied to the back of my basketball hoop, (Hey, it looks cooler if it was hung up on a pole! The only thing I had was the hoop). After, I lit another one of those on a dead tree in an empty lot. With garden hoses, it was put out quickly. Finally, we shot off the last of the fireworks, but when disposing of them, we put all 52 of the fireworks in 1 big cardboard box and put it away next to the dry brush we had out for the trash. You do the math....

The box exploded an hour later after relighting itself and made all the trash on fire. With help from neighbors, we out it out 20 minutes later and cleaned it up the next day.

So, who else had a disasterous fiasco? Wheter its a lit trashcan or a burned dinner, what was your disaster?

What possible reason could there be for God to create primates with nearly identical vestigal genes. For instance, the gene for vitamin C synthesis exists as a pseudo gene in all primates and suffers from a nearly identical malfunction in them.

Since this gene has no function, why would God put it there? Is he trying to deceive us?

My question is, should I expect good things to come of it or sheer boredom? Got fed up of waking up with tuffs of hair missing and a mouth like a drain inlet. Just what do you do when you don't drink anymore and you feel like going a bit mad for a couple of hours?

I am not even that old yet I noticed that sex plays a big part of this generation, prematiral sex does not solve a couples problems.
Why dont more people abstain and wait for marraige? What is the big deal about prematiral sex anyway? Isnt frienship respect God and love just as important in a realtionship? People just dont get married anymore.

HELP! Interfaith marriage and last minute jitter breakdowns...and parental chaos?
I am a very open minded secular person who is spiritual but not religious. My girlfriend is from a different denomination an comes from a religious family. We have been together for 7 years and gone through lots of hard times trying to balance each other's religious views.

We had planned an engagement in the coming summer and marriage few months later. Pre-ceremony jitters are normal things to a degree but my girlfriend has freaked and called everything off including the relationship, citing our religious differences as a causing factor, which she says makes her unhappy.

Broken hearts are one thing, but this is something I wasnt ready for. I have been with this woman for 7 years and we would already have been married were it not for our college studies. My parents (who are religious) initially were skeptical but have come to love my gf while her parents have always been apprehensive towards me and sometimes question the union.
Please help!

Moreover I know a fellow who is an evangelical Christian and he’s told me that many pastor plagiarize sermon illustrations from others and claim the events as their own.

I’ve also run into a couple of Christians that claimed they were Wiccan. (The above fellow introduced me to them thinking that we might relate.) When I quizzed them it was clear that they knew nothing about Wicca.

So what is the deal with this?

I hear of people say that kids today are spolied and dont listen and dont want to work and that life owes them a living and I notice on TV that this is true. But in real life even in our parents and grandparents generation there were kids that were spoiled dont listen etc do you think society tends to focus on the negavity of this generation? Is this just a broad statment the older generation makes? Why isnt the good things that young people do and acoomplishmsnets they made are not publized the way the bad is this question as been on my mind so I thought I would post this?

im asking as someone living in the UK and i have nothing personal against christianity or any other religion. but i didnt think extreme views like i read on hear had existed for a long time.
like all none christians will burn in hell. the earth is only 6000 years old. eveloution doesnt exist. homosexuality is a sin. muslims worship a different god from christians. witches should be burned and complete lack of any humanity or religous toleration etc
is this just a small minority or is this as common in the USA(somewhere i had always assumed was one of the most civilised and inteligent countries on the planet).
if you live in the USA let me know.
