even if it means compromising on some of my morals. Also, if I don't honour it any good ideas of how to get out of it?

When I was drunk I made a bet I would sleep with the person I bet with if it turned out to be true that this person was telling me the truth about a situation. I thought it was a no lose and didn't really think they would require payment due!

No, if it conflicts with your morals you should not do it. Especially if it brings harm to yourself, others, or someone else's property.
I would be honest with the person and tell them that you did not expect to lose so you did not think out the consequences of the bet until after you made it.
Offer another thing as a "compromise". Offer the guy 20.00 instead or go buy him a meal somewhere or clean out their gutters or pick up the dog poop in their yard or some other chore they hate. Or wear some stupid chicken outfit all day and go to work like that or something along those lines. That way they still "win", and so do you!
p.s. ahhh... and you meant it seriously?? Stupid bet. Either come up with something else to bet , or don't drink so much that the person looks good enough to sleep with... No, go with a dinner or something... maybe a really nice place where the dessert is almost as good as sex? lol! Good luck with that!

Unfortunately you put yourself into this situation. Why not talk to the person you made this bet with and try to come up with something else that will not compromise your morals. If they are a true friend and a decent person they would not want you to compromise your morals. Good Luck to you.

But I have to admit, bet or no bet, nothing would get me to compromise morals. We are known by our morals and morals are to important of a thing in my eyes.

Normally I would say yes. Why did you make the bet to begin with?

If it truly compromises morals, talk to the person you made the bet with. Explain it to him. Maybe there is an alternative that is just as good without your moral issues.

Don't bet what you can't afford to loose.

If it is REALLY against your morals, I would not do it. But, you will be remembered as one who does not follow through on their promises (or bets).

You are only as good as your word. If I say I will do something, I do it. But, I will NOT say I will do something that I know I won't want to do.

Finally, if it is illegal, then NO, do not do it at all - no matter what. It would be better to go off your word, than to make things worse and do something illegal.

Like several others, if we know more about the bet, we can make a more informed suggestion.

You should honour the bet you made. If you don`t honour the bet .... then word will get round that you don`t keep your promises and can`t be trusted.

Honour your bet, but explain that you are doing this under protest and explain why.

Let this be a lesson to you ...... Think before you open your mouth in future.

If you were not willing to fulfill the bet if you lost, you never should have made the bet. You made the bet, live with the consequences. Maybe next time you will think twice before accepting the bet.

If it meant compromising your morals, you should have never made the bet. Yes, you should honor the bet, you knew what you were getting into when you made the deal.

Depends on the bet, so I'm going to need more information.

It honestly depends on the situation, but for the most part I'd say no. If it's something a little embarrassing or not dangerous, then you should keep your word. If it involves putting yourself at risk or doing something illegal, then don't. I wish you would specify, since that would be more helpful to analyzing your situation. "It depends" isn't a solid answer.
