Mel Brooks, a well known Jewish funny man, wrote the Producers, a comedy about Hitler.
As far as 9/11 goes: that's a still a tragedy without resolution.

Yeah, I like the idea, I can just see the Holocaust as a comedy musical but 9/11 is too soon. How about one about the IRA?

It's funny but tasteless.
