I'm just curious my friend admitted he was gay. What brings on the 'symptoms' ( if there are any) or the actions taken by them. The ? here is why do people turn lesbian,gay,transgender,bisexual ?

My sibling and i were both baptised and on my fathers side its a strict Orthodox / Catholic belief with my mother its a modern day Catholic belief passed on from the last 3-4 generations , her parents wernt so into it but her Nanna was. Respectivly i have only ever attended the Catholic church a few times for weddings, christmas , easter etc but not for my own good , Am i really catholic? The religion and its morals confuse me and the faith my decendents believed in.

OK, a bit about my background: I'm 21 years, Indonesian, I left home to live overseas when I was 14 and skipped 3 semesters of high school so I've always hung around folks who are a bit older than me.

I went to Europe alone when I was 18 and lived a rough life there: I didn't know the language, I was trying to build a business, and I got kicked out from one house to another. To make things worse I had a stalker, so I lived in constant fear of being taken advantage of. I would dress maturely and when people asked me how old I was I'd say "not yet 30" because I was afraid that they'd do things to me if they knew I was so young. My mentors taught me, if I mean business and don't want men to take advantage of me, I needed to be formal.

Now I'm back in Indonesia and things have changed. I'm still expanding my business but I'm new in town and so to get connections for business I meet new people. One comment I often get is that I act too formal! What can I do to tone down?

I think they should watch some vintage Hippie films, like "Easy Rider", "Woodstock" and The Monterey Festival (w/Hendrix!)...among others.
Or, how about some modern interpretations, like "The Doors", or "Flashback" (w/Dennis Hopper & Kiefer Sutherland). That way, they'd see that Hippies are NOT evil, but good, however stoned, unwashed or naked they may be! Got any film/music/book recommendations?

My son will be 10 on the 26th of December. It is getting harder to buy something for his birthday because he gets so much for Christmas. Also it is hard to have a party for him because so many people are either out of town or unable to be reached. I bought him a telescope. Also, how can anyone justify sex with a 9 year old? Not to mention the fact he married her when she was 6. If you truly believe the Quran is the word of God then it travels throughout time. If you can justify sex with a child (He was in his 50s at the time) back then, what is different now?

do all white people get offended when people of colour say whitey ,cracker,and so on? are they racist? do all back people get offended when called ****** , cocoa puff , and so on ? are they racist? black people these days (in my opinion for what i noticed) are more racist to white people then we are to them! why the double standard and why is it so taboo to talk about it! we are all the same! i know i have not been all around the world but from what i hear on this site and from where ive been thats what takes place! cheers

As everyone knows its really not long until christmas. i am organised so thats not a problem.

My problem is my friend and what to get her- she is 38 has just had her birthday last week. i managed to sort that out just. i dont have alot of time left due to working etc. so anyone got any ideas please?
