Hi all, I'm an Asian and I want my second language to be English. So
as to educate myself I read and watch English titles everyday now.

But I'm having a problem when it comes to watching movies, or tv shows. I'm having a hard time understanding what the artists are talking about or the story of the shows. But when there's a english caption then I can understand well.

Can someone give some advice for me to use? Thanks

Or if you have tips for me to become a master on english language please do teach me some.

I know I will recieve many answers to this loaded question with a resounding yes, but if you are a student of Gods word and desire to be taught of the Holy Spirit then I admonish you to check out www.what-the-hell-is-hell dot com. If you will read this with an open mind it may lead you to some much needed truth and liberty. God is truly a God of love and not one to condemn mankind to a burning hell.
For too long we have been taught wrong concerning judgement and hell. It is used to scare people into serving a God whom they believe will send them to hell if they do something wrong. He is not willing any should perish....He died once for ALL!!!! Praise to His wonderful name.

I'm a gay male.... I have been out for almost 2 years now... and before that i had a gf for about 8 month... we always held hands and only kissed once.. and it didnt do anything for me.. But when i see one of my girl friends sing or anything i just fall in love with them, is it just their ability to sing or is it that i like girls again? I feel like a jerk for not wanting to spend my entire Christmas with my in-laws. Here's the situation. My Mom, who I loved more than anything, passed away in Jan. 2000 at age 52. Ever since then the Holidays and Birthdays just aren't the same. I'm sure feeling this way is normal. It's not that I don't enjoy them anymore, but they are just 'different' now. Now that I'm married, I'm excited to start building some new Christmas memories and traditions of my own. I would like my wife and I to spend the Holidays together and decorate and do our own thing. But every year we go spend 3 nights with her parents and family for Christmas. Her family is great but I would like us to do our own thing too. My wife is so excited about us going to stay with them, it's almost like she's a kid again to hear her talk about it. Where as I am kind of dreading it. Do you think that I'm a jerk for feeling this way about the situation?

someone very close to be has...i dont want to say lost faith in god, but he just flat out doesnt believe a word of the bible. he thinks too much into it. baisically he says that the bible is bull and that i can go on believing in some fairy tale if thats what helps me live mylife. i still believe and have faith in god. but what would i say to something like that.

Yesterday I asked two questions:

Why do americans pronounce the word 'herb'..'erb' since when did it have a silent 'h'?!

Why do black people pronounce the word 'ask' as 'arksk'?

For the first one I got some fascinating answers about accents, history and dialects and for the second I mainly got a load of people ranting that this light hearted observation was unfair as I was lumping black people together, using unfair generalisations and generally being racist. That I have not heard all black people speak is obvious. It was purely a turn of phrase and the meaning of it, if a little intelligence is applied, is surely unmissable?

What is it with the obsessive hysteria of these people with chips on their shoulders who can do nothing other than kick up a fuss about something that was meant to be harmless and innocent and rant about how unfair it all is?
