When Was The Bible Written?
The Bible was written over a period of 1400 to 1800 years by more than 40 different authors. The Bible is a compilation of 66 separate books, divided into two primary divisions: the Old Testament (containing 39 books) and the New Testament (containing 27 books). It is believed that all of the books of the Bible were written under inspiration of the Holy Spirit.
The first five books of the Old Testament (known as the Pentateuch or Torah) was written by Moses during the forty years that the children of Israel wandered in the wilderness (1450 - 1410 B.C.).

The complete Bible ie the Old and New testament put together contains 73 books.how ever the protestant bible ie King james version has only 66 books as they consider 7 books of the old testamnet to be APOCRYPHA ie of doubtful authority.
therefore the OLd testament of the Catholics contains 46 books and that of protestants 39 books. and new of both sects 27 books.
THe KIng James version of the bible considered as most authentic and popular bible of the world has been revised about more than FIVE times coz it had SEVERE DEFECTS. The names of versions are.

Bible means "library" in Greek. (Biblios) It is a collection of 66 books, written over 1,600 years by ~ 40 writers. I believe it was compiled around 400 AD. The Catholic church kept it out of the hands of the common man for centuries until King James had it translated into English in 1611.
