Evil is a judgment that is specific to the point of view of the one passing the judgment, or deciding that the action constitutes evil. It does not exist outside of the mind of the one judging the action as evil.
Others may agree who hold a similar point of view but this does not make it real. Someone viewing the situation from a separate or opposite point of view will see the situation differently.
Often viewing the same action as a good or positive turn of events.
Evil is the name we give to things that we wish had not happened, and to the people who do these things.
Good is the name we give to things that we like. What is good for one group may be considered bad to some other group who sees things from a divergent point of view.
Evil is only a thought in our minds, unless we fool ourselves into thinking it is external and that it may seek to do us harm. This is a trick that we play on ourselves, no more no less.
Love and blessings

Evil can be thought of as "the absence of good," or an unprovoked act of aggression towards another that produces harm. But as with all words of this nature, I tend to look to the intent behind the word. What would cause us, as human beings, to conceive of a word like, "evil?"
I think that pure evil is unfathomable to the average person. It is an action that is so heinous, so lacking in love and human feeling, that it is beyond all comprehension. It is, "inhuman."
In order to perform a truly evil act, it must be done without conscience. It must have zero consideration for the "other" and full, unquestioning consideration for the self. That being the case, evil must be narcissistic in nature as well as psychopathic in order to be a truly evil act.

Even murderers could desire to stay w/ themselves and their evil deed for something of their lives. i do no longer comprehend how their victims would be avenged, except possibly they do no longer prefer revenge whilst they're in Heaven. possibly we are all in a diverse physique of suggestions, or something. possibly that's basically a warning, to maintain people from being undesirable. i think of we could desire to consistently attempt to be as reliable as accessible, even only for this international, besides because of the fact the subsequent, and that i do no longer think of there are preordained reliable and evil people. desire it quite is clever!

I'd say bad and evil are different, bad is a person that hurts people for the fun of it but evil does it as if it's their job and they do love their job.

Nonexistant. Good and Evil are metaphysical concepts, and I do not believe in a metaphysical realm.
There is, however, right and wrong, as defined by the social contract.

added: Frogonalog, you DO know that story is in fact entirely false and no one has ever presented the slightest evidence that such a conversation has ever occured in any university classroom, and that it certainly would not be Einstein since it contradicts his fundamental views of spirituality... right?

Evil, another word created by the bible to serve its purpose just as most other religious propoganda does; to scare us. Don't commit evil acts, or you'll be damned to hell by the devil himself! Right. I'll keep that one in mind.
Yeah i'll probably get butchered for this answer by the religious fanatics, whatever. I don't believe in evil, I believe in human beings and human nature...a very flawed society....but still animals. We create the love, hate, injustice, hurt, murder, war, etc. that we surround ourselves with. We can't blame that on "evil", or the "devil" for possessing our souls and forcing us to commit such treacherous acts.... (give me a break) we can only blame it on ourselves, and be punished accordingly.
