Guess the politicization of Christmas has put a damper on most people's enthusiasm.
Tube Dude's Answer to a Question about wishing people Merry Christmas was this, which should amply explain the situation!
To My Liberal Friends:
"Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, our best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low-stress, non-addictive, gender-neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of your choice, with respect for the religious/secular persuasion and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all. We also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the generally accepted calendar year 2007, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make America great. Not to imply that America is necessarily greater than any other country nor the only America in the Western Hemisphere . And without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith or sexual preference of the wishes. By accepting these greetings you are accepting these terms. This greeting is subject to clarification or withdrawal. It is freely transferable with no alteration to the original greeting. It implies no promise by the wisher to actually implement any of the wishes for herself or himself or others, and is void where prohibited by law and is revocable at the sole discretion of the wisher. This wish is warranted to perform as expected within the usual application of good tidings for a period of one year or until the issuance of a subsequent holiday greeting, whichever comes first, and warranty is limited to replacement of this wish or issuance of a new wish at the sole discretion of the wisher."
To My Conservative Friends:
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

I don't know your religious orientation is but the Bible says things/people etc will get worse until the end. It also says that we must show r selves friendly to make friends. Many people have pent up hurts etc. or their so busy doing everything or nothing all @ the time. there by making one have tunnel vision not open to taking the time to STOP & take a deep breath and let the spirit of the season be @ the fore front their thought or heart which is what ='s our actions Sorry for the people you have run into lately! I am not a extremist christian like the media potrays but I try to balance my life with the Whole Bible Which teaches that God loves EVERYBODY Jon 3:17 YOU and ME Brother its just the wrong (bad) things that we do that he & I don't like. Hope I didn't ramble too much I'm trying to hurry off to work but I had to answer this ? u ask somehow Remember Jesus died for me & YOU & He & I love you with that CHRISTmas SPIRIT! Keep the faith & keep looking there are good people still out and around.

Christmas has become too commercialized. Most stores start Christmas displays way too early. People are tired of Christmas by the time it gets here. Even the kids are.

Christmas sucks because you have to go out and fight the crowds and are expected to spend your money on presents. The Christmas Spirit has been replaced by comsumerism and commercialism.

I think the spirit is there for who wants it.It is all in the way you look at it.If you say "Its commercialized and blah blah blah" that's what it is.If you try a different attitude,"Christmas is coming and I can't wait" you may feel differently and better about yourself and the holiday itself.Merry Christmas and good luck.
