As everyone knows its really not long until christmas. i am organised so thats not a problem.

My problem is my friend and what to get her- she is 38 has just had her birthday last week. i managed to sort that out just. i dont have alot of time left due to working etc. so anyone got any ideas please?
She wont say what she wants as she hates people buying things for her, she does have a family. And is one of these people that buy whatever she needs.

Any honest ideas welcome.
and where i can purchase it
I will spend bout £50.

Thanks
Giraffe

I'd be as stuck as you are, but have you tried thedoghouse.com? They have some great ideas (most of the time!). Good luck, and let us know what you decided

Any time I ever got in a bind to think of something "different" for a woman friend, I went looking for a reeeeally nice brooch. Nothing like a dazzling little brooch to set off even the simplest garment.... a sweater, a jacket lapel, a "little black dress" or any other dress for that matter. I often used to carry a couple of brooches in my purse so that if I got unexpectedly invited out to dinner straight from work, I whipped out a brooch, attached it to whatever I was wearing, and voila! Dressed for Dinner LOL. But when you give one as a gift, keep it simple, but stunning and for sure a $40/50 brooch ought to be a stunner

I would go to

qvcuk.com

they are having a last minute gifts day today. They have some great excercise machines, some lovely jewellery, why dont you buy her a juicer or something?

Have a look on QVC - they will deliver in time for xmas if you order by the end of today, and their quality is great!

Thanks
Helen

When stuck, I think of the person's personality, go to a big store and start looking. My hunches haven't failed me yet.
You can always save the receipt and enclose it with the value marked out.

How about tickets to a gig of someone she likes? Or a spa treatment (some like 'em some dont) Some good quality earphones? A digital photo frame? A fetching hat?

A really good quality mohair travel rug, it seems like an odd thing when you unwrap it, as I did some years ago, but it has been so useful, far more enjoyable than you would imagine, it has grown on me over the years and I appreciate it as a gift more and more.

Get her a christmas stocking and then buy lots of nice stuff to fill it up, that way you can buy lots but don't have to overspend. You can get a nice mug, some chocolates, foam bath, etc. That way you don't have to worry if she will like the gift or not and you'll enjoy seeing her unpack all the goodies! Also you can think of something that reminds her of her childhood and get something like that!

as you say she hates people buying things for her means that kind of person doesnt need expensive gift what matters is you remember her.
give her a belated greeting card and a small thing that she will see everyday like...

a door charm hanging with sounds or
a music box or
a scarf or
a figurine

i like those stuff to get as a presence.

something she would not normally buy for herself - pampering vouchers are always a treat - put them in a nice evening bag or in the arms of a teddy, just to make the presentataion a bit more exciting than just an envelope.

Give her an IOU for a dinner or lunch or coffee or whatever with you after all the hustle and bustle of the holidays are over...
