I am so not in the holiday spirit this year. There is no snow on the ground, the temperature is above freezing, every other yard has a deflated Santa corpse, and I just finally put my tree up. I need some serious help on how to get my family and myself into the holiday spririt.

if you dont have a small child, borrow one from a friend, take them out shopping, and to see the lights,,,bake some cookies, and let the family decorate them (you can get those rolls of cookie dough if you want an easy way) , have a family singalong of Christmas carols, who cares if you can sing well,,,, yes i agree, those inflatables sure do deflate!

Get some good Holiday movies, wear your Holiday clothes make some hot cocoa pop some popcorn and thread it to put on your tree. I myself am happier this year because there is no snow and it's warmer. Nothing I hate more than trying to Christmas shop when the temperature is below freezing, it's snowing and you have to find a parking spot and try to amneuver a cart in a parking lot that hasn't been properly plowed because it's too busy.

Put on some Christmas music, wrap presents, drink hot cocoa, put up decorations, and go caroling. These things always put me in the Christmas spirit.I do one other thing that tops them all though,I go volunteer at the shelter.I help cook and serve a meal for the homeless and needy. There is no bigger reward as far charitable Christmas spirit. And isn't that one of the main reasons for the season? That and the celebration of Christ birth.

Get a snow making machine, fill your yard with snow. Buy a whole bunch of Christmas Cd's and play them all day long. And drink eggnog and sing Christmas carols.

pass out a blank sheet of paper and have everyone in the family write down the many blessings they have. Read them out loud to one another and say a little prayer thanking God for all of them. You can do this sitting around the Christmas tree.

Act positive and go with the flow.....I know it is hard to get into the holiday spirit when it feels like early spring in New England......this is unusual weather...but I'm not complaining about the gas heating bill. :-)
