i respect all of my black friends, i know of black i have wanted to have a relationship with, but that's beside the point. my question might be sensitive.. what do you guys consider yourselves, african americans or just african? or just american, i am asking you this because my black friends like to go back to their native roots from where their ancestors came from and they do not like it when i just say they are simply america, one of my friends is jamacan and she goes wild when i say she is american, she said, she is jamaciam, her heritage is jamacan, but she was born here , is it wrong for me to consider all blacks just african , i mean that is where blacks come from isn't it and what do you guys want to consider yourselves

a serious question from me for once, last year our car an 03 vauxhall corsa had its windscreen smashed sitting outside our door in the middle of the night. we have done nothing to upset the locals. i knew when it was done it was because it had english plates (we live in the north of ireland) i said different as not to upset mrs kumkuat, shes english by the way. i have recently found out who it was and why they did it. apparently english people are unwelcome in my estate. so i know who it was i know where they live my big dilemma is they have kids and a partner. i'm in 2 minds whether to put the bastard in casualty or let it go. i'm open to suggestions. its nearly christmas.

I've often wondered why people are so mean spirited towards gay people? Is it because they need a scapegoat to hate and blame everything on??? I'm not gay, and don't have any close friends or relatives who claim to be, but I don't hate gay or lesbian people. At the worst I'd expect that people who didn't agree with the gay lifestyle would be indifferent or just ignore gay or lesbian people. As for the fear that "someone might be propositioned by someone gay", well who cares. You could just say "no thanks" or "not interested" and leave it at that (the same as with unwanted advances from the opposite sex). I've seen some really horrible things in the news like protesters showing up outside a funeral of a gay man with signs saying "He was burning in Hell". What is going on here?????

I'm just used to calling God He. Actually, my understanding is, that God
is Complete, Whole. And it isn't until the Lifeforce leaves that which we call
God, that it breaks down into what we understand as the masculine and
feminine.
And as we know, humans are much more complicated than all that!
There are masculine women, and feminine men. And the spirit in us is made
of both these aspects of Creation, and we can use both aspects. So all the He or She, and He/She, is really nothing more than an Ego trip!

Most of us have heard the sound of ‘Azaan’ or the Call for prayer emanating from mosques at some time or the other. The call for prayer is given 5 times a day as it is required of a practicing Muslim to pray 5 times a day. The actual prayers start within a short time after the call for prayer is given. There is a dedicated person usually to give the Azaan at a mosque and is called the ‘Mu’azzin’. This method of calling people was formulated during the time of the Prophet Muhammad(pbuh) after other methods like blowing of horns, ringing of bells etc were rejected. The amazing part about the Azaan is that Azaan will be given every moment somewhere in the world.Given below is the text of the Azaan with English translation:

Allahu Akbar (recited 4 times)
Ash-hadu al La ilaha illallah (recited 2 times)
Ash-hadu anna Muhammadar rasoolullah (recited 2 times)
Hayya’ala-salaah (recited 2 times)
Hayya’alal-falaah (recited 2 times)
Allahu Akbar (recited 2 times)
La ilaha illallah (recited once)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“God is great” (recited 4 times)
"I bear witness that there is none worthy of being worshipped except Allah(God)”(recited 2 times)
"I bear witness that Muhammad is the Apostle of Allah(God)." (recited 2 times)
"Come to prayer." (recited 2 times)
"Come to Success." (recited 2 times)
“God is great” (recited 2 times)
"There is no other object of worship except Allah(God)." (recited once)

The following phrase is added after "Hayya 'alal-falah" in the Azaan of the early morning prayers:
"As-salatu khairum minannaum" ( recited two times)
"Prayer is better than sleep" (recited two times)

I have never been to the middle east and I wonder what life is like for expats there. Do you work with local people? Are they different from what the media traditinally potrays them as? Do they have any independent views or do they just mouth what is fed to them by their leaders' rhetoric?

Do they believe that religion, belief in God etc are personal choices and everyone's beliefs must be respected? Or are they convinced their religion is the final answer?

I am watching NBC and the female anchor of the show was made to demonstrate her difficulty with parallel parking. This was the setup for the new system that automatically parallel parks your car. Why did they make the female anchor do it? She even screwed up the automatic system. This is just fueling the fire for the bad female driver stereotype. I've been parallel parking perfectly for 10 years and do it better than some men I know. In an age where we are trying break through the glass ceiling, female anchors and others continue to take on the helpless female victim roles and make that glass stronger. What do you think?

We're told that he has made mistakes (the Flood, for instance) and regretted them. We know that his creation is imperfect (too many examples to list here). We know that all the evils which he could supposedly do away with, persist in spite of him.

So why worship a screw-up god?
