Looking for love and companionship? Looking for a sense of belonging and purpose? That is what it sounds like to me. No religious group can fulfill these things in you. You and all the others are looking for a group to belong too and a philosophy to follow. Is Islam bad? I don't think so. Anything that spreads the word of God cannot be bad but think of it this way are you and all these other joining to be part of a group or did you actually find God in the words of Islam. God loves you no matter who you stand with as long as you are doing it for the right reasons. The only right reason being to understand and love God just as he understands and loves you. Don't get hooked up on the words and the idle gossip that people will bombard you with. If you can sit in a room by yourself and truly be with God then you need nothing else.

I agree with you that women of Islam get a bad rap, I heard the best explanation from a Woman who came into the hospital I work at. She said that "In America People can see a Nun walk by wearing her full adornment from head to toe and the only part of her body showing are her hands and face. And In America they give her the utmost respect. They turn on the TV and see a Muslim woman doing the same thing and they think we are being persecuted and forced against our will." I don't think the media know what they are talking about and you have to realize that its just propaganda to get people to support this war...because before Iraq and 9/11 no one really cared, Now its a huge issue

That's so sad! These woman must have been lonely before with no life because NO WOMAN in her right mind would turn to Islam! It's a bad religion that degrades woman and destroys lives.
