I'm just used to calling God He. Actually, my understanding is, that God
is Complete, Whole. And it isn't until the Lifeforce leaves that which we call
God, that it breaks down into what we understand as the masculine and
feminine.
And as we know, humans are much more complicated than all that!
There are masculine women, and feminine men. And the spirit in us is made
of both these aspects of Creation, and we can use both aspects. So all the He or She, and He/She, is really nothing more than an Ego trip!

In the original Greek of the Old Testament, when it says that God created man in "his" image, what it REALLY says is God created man in "THEIR" image. In the Greek, God is in plural, neither masculine nor feminine.

On the issue of HE versus She/He, usually people assume that "man" or "he" is a generic term, like horse. However, that is not the case. For example,
"One of the horses on the farm gave birth last night." is ok.
"One of the men on the farm gave birth last night." is not ok.
This shows us that "man" (and hence "he") is not the generic we thought it was. That is why people are trying to incorporate he/she into their speech.
On the topic of religion, however, things get a little hairy. The majority of depictions of God are male. (Excepting the movie Dogma.) Some people would be truly offended by calling their God She. Most Christian prayers address God as "Our Father", or "Lord", necessitating a male figure.
Perhaps it would be better if a new term were created that transcended sex. Or, we could go back to the Greek and use "Them". Or, we could always call God "It". However, all of these choices would require a HUGE rewriting of religious literature, and that would be very expensive. So, for now, we use He.

There is nothing to forgive to call our Creator by His true essence is respectful not insulting. You do not need to ask for forgiveness for that. The others need to seek forgiveness for calling Him a she. and yes I agree it is an ego trip to call Him a her by some .

well, in persian language there's no difference between male and female, so we don't have he/she, but I think generally people in English refer to God as He.You know that God doesn't have a gender. It's only the way people call him.
