i am 17, and my mother always told me i do not have to go to church every sunday just to prove i believe in god, she says i must have faith within me, and know in my heart, and she also told me most people who attend church are the devils themselves, because they judge eachother, and most just hold alot of drama,and yes i know some VERY MEAN people that are in churches to keep busy, and ignore the reason why their really there, and that is to praise god.

I have just lost my job with no luck and cannot get public assistance. I do not want my children to wake up with nothing on Christmas, If any one has any suggestions please let me know. I am not begging just asking for advice. I have never been in this situation.

if you have family members who did not convert when you did, who have now converted, did you play any part in their conversion? what did you find was the best way to discuss your beliefs with them without them attacking you? and how were you able to share your testimony? what helped them discover the truth and happiness to be found in the gospel?

and if you are like me...and are the only one who converted.. how do you set an example for your family members? what works for you?

I have a few....
When I was 8 Santa & Mrs. Claus stayed up late drinking on Christmas eve, and wrapped presents, putting my name on my sisters most wanted Chrismas item (a Crayola Caddy)

Another year I got 10 $20 bills in my stocking (to hit the Christmas sales afterwards)

Another year, I bought my sister a really cool, anniversarry special issue of Rolling Stone Magazine. It was pretty thick. I ended up blabbing to her about what it was cuz I was so excited. She was anxious to receive it. But then I ended up keeping it for myself because I liked it so much. She was mad!

ummm lets see, I remember making gingerbread houses with my father and sister.

I remember making hard candy with my mother.

And I remember telling my Uncle that if he didn't buy me a Scritti Politti tape, (1986) I wouldn't love him anymore. He bought it for me.

I believe that those people who dwell on the literal interpretation of the Virgin Birth are missing the point.

Maria, as I know her, was a Virigin at her Soul (in her heart and in her thoughts, if you like), she was the most pure person in incarnation, when she gave birth to Christ.

With this being the case, a person who never did wrong, a person who never caused harm, a person who never spoke badly of others, does it really matter whether she conceived the natural way, by having sex, or not?

I personally believe that the emphasis on the physical denied Maria the emphasis on her as a uniquely pure person, one that gave birth, and brought up Jesus Christ.

Is there anyone who feels the same way?

you agree that it would be easy to not believe in anything than it is to Believe in a powerful God and have the courage to stand for that belief. And if so doesn't that make a believer much strong in comparison?
