They've been involved in way more close calls than you and don't want to die. What makes youth so foolish is that it thinks it will never think the way the elders do. But guess what? I used to think like you do. What changed? Got hit by a drunk driver; got in an "act of God" accident that almost killed me and the guy in the other car; got run off the road by a drunk driver; nearly got hit head-on by a drunk driver entering a highway from the exit; had a friend who saw someone shoot up a car on the highway because the person in the second-from-fast lane, who was going ten over the limit, would not reduce speed.

In short, us old farts have seen much danger cause by young punks and drunks. We also have more common sense than you young daredevils who are, if you lead anything like you drive, going to cause society to go to hell in a hand-basket.

They've done studies showing what effect it has on speeding thru traffic. If you go ten miles over the limit and drive 60 miles, you'll get to your destination about 2 minutes earlier - and for what?? so you can cause some innocent person to die because you're so selfish and impatient?

They walk slow too.

Just wait until you get old. It's something you can't prevent...unless you die young, but that's not worth it to quit the aging process...
