And shouldn't we try to deal with the root cause of their drug abuse instead of throwing them in prison and leaving them to reoffend when they come out?

Do you ever feel that certain people in your life are 'connected' to you on a different level?

I know a few people that I feel a different kind of connection to them and I don't have that connection with other people. Its as if I've known them forever.

i had an abortion. i did it coz the baby wasn't my husband's. We were going through separation at that time and i din need the complications. I already have 2 kids and was worried that the finances won't work out with a 3rd kid should the divorce pulls through. I make minimum wage and was gonna go back to school.

It's been slightly over a year. I dun feel remorseful for having done the abortion but i have made a vow never to have another kid. Sometimes i think about the baby and feel a little sad. I know I will go to hell for it. I dunno what i can do to make amends to the baby and to God. I don't want to go to hell.

i always forget to pray on time, and i usually do it late. and i was wondering if all those late prayers even count. so how long can a prayer be delayed until it is no longer valid?

All religions are false there is absolutely no proof or liklihood that any religion holds a grain of truth in it.
I understand that religion gives people hope, but surely it is obvious that it is all an out of date con.

It seems Catholics obsess about Hell. Why? Even after Confession, you pay 'penance' but are obligated to confess the same thing again over and over, week after week. You get 'saved' 45 million times. You're a sinner, you get saved and 5 minutes later you're evil again......

Any other strands of Christianity like this?

Is anyone in a relationship with a guy that has kids? The problem is his kids have no respect for him or me. My partner always defends them and will say they are only kids and that those are the things that kids do. He has 4 kids ranging in ages from 21,19, 15, and 13. The 2 oldest have been arrested more than once within 3 years, the 2 youngest are at our house every other weekend and they have no respect for our house, and they feel as though they can do whatever they want, and he allows it to happen and if I say something to him about it, it turns into a big fight. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I know that most think that it is impersonal, and I never do this, but this year I am on a limit with my money since my baby is due around this time, and living on the other side of the US, it is much cheaper to send cards, then packages. I have three sisters, and yes, I all ready told them that they are getting gift cards, they are cool with the idea, but how much do I put on the cards... There is a 6, 10, and 17 year old. What is a reasonable price and why? Thanks for the help!!!

...confrontational. i think the english reserve causes most people to bite their tongue and not say anything, which might be why the wearers feel they can proceed as they like.
what i find myself doing is staring straight past them, which they can pick up on...but why should i avert my gaze? i suppose more agressive types will give them an evil stare, and force them to avert their gaze, but i dont want to do this: i am not objecting to them as a person- all i want to convey is that i find their hiding of the face to be objectionable and offensive to my culture.
is this a case where openness is the best policy, and i should say what i feel to their face...and hang the consequences, maybe i could write a short sentence on a piece of paper and hand one to each person i come across..or should i complain to the people in charge of the local mosque?
what other options can people suggest to make these people aware of the offence they are causing me, without resorting to any form of viole
