I know that most think that it is impersonal, and I never do this, but this year I am on a limit with my money since my baby is due around this time, and living on the other side of the US, it is much cheaper to send cards, then packages. I have three sisters, and yes, I all ready told them that they are getting gift cards, they are cool with the idea, but how much do I put on the cards... There is a 6, 10, and 17 year old. What is a reasonable price and why? Thanks for the help!!!

I would just think abou how much you would normally spend on gifts for them and give them that amount on a gift card. If you would normally just buy them a DVD or something like that, $20 would be appropriate. If you normally buy them something more than that, adjust the gift card accordingly. I would say, since they are your sisters, giving less than $20 would be a little cheap, unless you are really strapped for cash and then they will understand. I personally would give my sisters $40 or so, just because then they can buy something they want, anywhere from cds/dvds to clothes or whatever they happen to like. It totally depends on your situation though and what you have given them in the past and what you can afford now.

well...living on the other side of the US could have its advantages....this is the deal...mail is cheaper but packages are better.. I would try to splurge a little...if you are going to send them $25 a piece....you could mail the package out really early...save on shipping charges doing that...probably run you about $10-12 on shipping. Put all the gifts in one box. At the post office they do it by weight..try to buy gifts that arent heavy. you could then divide the remaining $50.00 amongst them and if you shop now..you could possibly get good gifts cheap. Buy CD's and some little candies for them, each one a shirt...actually belks has these underthings called cuddl duds...they are so soft and not heavy at all and you wear them under your clothes for an additional layer when it gets cold. Decorative socks too. You could buy them each a pair of fashion earrings to wear or you could just send the card with the money... Alot of jewelry stores have rings now with CZ in them...real gold or silver just not the stone....they are really affordable and would not cost that much to send....BTW...most jewelry stores will even send the stuff themselves for a nominal charge....you just need to ask.....Good Luck and God Bless!!

at least 20. I know It's a little much but your siblings are still young. I would say 10 for the 17 year old. like a dunkin donuts gift card and then 20 to toys r us for the 6 and 10 year old. I know it's difficult, good luck. congratulations on the baby.

I agree with sandy and say $50 b/c to me that's sufficient. People should be grateful for even receiving anything and u are a nice person for even thinking of them. $50 should be more than enough, better yet what ever u feel in ur heart, is the greatest gift u could ever give. Have a blessed and wonderful Holiday season!!!!

geez everyone else said 50.00 i think that is expensive for 3 people if you send each of them a 50.00 gift card that's 150.00 that's crazy i was going to say anywhere between 15-20 dollars sounds reasonable they will understand that your having a baby and cant afford expensive stuff this year it's the thought that counts

I had an aunt that would send all the neices and nephews a crisp $5 bill. It was fun to have "candy" money and the fact that she thought enough about us all was more than enough of a gift. Send what you can afford and not a penny more! Remember, it's the thought that counts!

it all depends on your budget...and where the gift card is for....
if the gift card is for a music shop then make sure it's enough to bbuy a cd....think of which store it's for and what they might like to buy there, then put an appropriate amount....

$20 thats not too much that they will buy something u'll regret, but enough that u dont look stingy.. No money can buy your love for them.. So u could give them one dollar, but as long as ur there for them, it shouldnt matter how much u give them.. They'll appreciate it later in life :)
