Jesus was not born in a manger. He was born in a stable and then placed in a manger, which is a feeding trough for animals. His humble beginnings set the pattern for the lifestyle of Jesus. At Matt. 8:20, Jesus said: "Foxes have dens and birds of heaven have roosts, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay down his head."

God is a humble man. He's not predictable. If Jesus was born in a palace everyone would have followed him call it a status thing. But because he was born in a manger they don't believe that he is God.

to show the people that although Jesus was the son of God that Jesus was here to help humanity and not to be superior to us but to be among us and fo him to be born in a manger thats shows equality to humans.

The Bible doesn't give that detail but I personally believe that He allowed this happen so as to show the condition of the human race and how humble our Savior came to save us.
