National geographic states that in fact, homosexuality and bisexuality is known throughout the animal kingdom such as in birds, beetles, sheep, fruit bats, dolphins, orangutans, and macaques to name a few. One in particular, the bonobo, an African ape closely related to humans, and highly sexually active, is a significant example. Studies suggest 75 percent of bonobo sex is non-reproductive and that nearly all bonobos are bisexual.
