Because morons through history have pillaged and killed in the name of their beliefs, just the same as the muslims and Americans and Israeli's are killing each other today.
Have the courage to quietly believe whatever the hell you want to believe and leave the rest to believe what they want. Your beliefs are no more "right" than anyone elses, so what the hell do you want to fight about?

Good question.
People dont like debates, or challenges that could rock their belief-system, it would force them to think and re-evaluate, or it is just easy not to believe in somthing, let others take responsibility for being the movers of social or religous ideas. Fighting, everyone choses their battles. Routine, the rutt and lazyness I would say.

They're scared that what they believe or fight for is different than what other people believe or fight for.
They might also be afraid that people won't support them.

You get tired of being insulted, cursed at, threatened and so on. Some of us still stand for what we believe regardless.

I'm not.In fact I promote this very ideal to all my family members-believe in Something-Anything and be prepared to defend it to the death!!!
