The world has reached the point where we are extracting as much oil at once as possible. This is called peak oil production. Now we will able to produce only LESS oil than say, yesterday. This has everything to do with how much oil is in the earth not how efficient we are at extraction. As we increase our population and consumption we require more and more oil but will only recieve less and less. EVERYTHING we have in our homes, buildings, parks, every little thing manufactured is available because of oil. As oil runs out we won't be able to make enough food, transportation, electricity, EVERYTHING. We need to change how we live and operate as individuals AND as societies. This site and the books and videos have a lot of information and interesting insight. You can find most of these items at your public library or university libraries....

First, Oil is very, very difficult to get out of sands, the price of oil has everything to do with how much can be produced, NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND!! The world consums 88 million barrels a day. We only have about 300 billion left in the earth. Do the math. Also, look at the information that is hugely CITED material.
