My religion is what I glean from the Universe. Call it God if you will.

Evil is using ill intent to cause harm.

And part 3 - I have heard that its written somewhere.

Religion - buddhism/astral projectionist

Evil - Perceived harmful and blame-able actions or intentions
originating from free will.

Free will is not real. You don't have control over what you
do next. Everything you do is the best you know how to do
at the moment. You learn from your mistakes. But until
then, you just try to do the best you can until you are freed
from your degree of ignorance.

"A man does what he can
until his destiny is revealed."

Samurai

The key word is try the BEST YOU CAN. So this doesn't
mean you should go around hurting people because
it's not your fault.
People try to classify the act or thought immediately without
understanding the psychology behind it. The truth is that
compassion is not an universal emotion. There are people
in our world that could carve you up piece by piece and not
feel any different about it than carving a turkey. They are
known as psychopaths. The other variables may include
heated anger, abuse as child, limited perspectives(gangsters use less vocabulary words and are confined to " F#@K You, disrespect, etc...), chemical imbalances, delusions, meglomania(due to low self esteem and creativity), and all sorts of negative emotions that make you perceive that there is less than enough to go around in this world(not enough money, love, etc)---limited beliefs...and on and on ... In short, there is a reason
for why everyone is some way or does something. There maybe a degree of free will as found by quantum scientists who study the brain, but that final variable is very small and all other variables are likely to predict your actions with 99.99% certainty.
If this were not true, we would not have criminal profilers.
If you say evil exists, then what you are saying is that if you were born in a ghetto, you have a higher chance of being evil and you should be at fault for that. Um.. no.. You are more violent and unethical because you were bought up that way.

In conclusion, evil is not real. It is human invented.

Ps. Maybe this isn't what you wanted to hear since I suspect you are christian, but it's the only logical conclusion.

Religion: Paganism.

Evil: There is a need for chaos, destruction, and death. It is called duality. Out of chaos comes order. Out of destruction comes the construction of new and better things. Out of death and decay come life. Hence, there is less "evil" in the world than we seem to think. Acceptance of how this universe works is the key.

Of course, I am not saying that people should consciously DO evil acts either. Evil acts would be to harm someone or interfere with another's will intentionally. we will pay karmically for these acts in this lifetime. However, it all happens for a reason too.

Evil is a state of mind so is good. If one is evil then he or she can be good also. Everything is a state of mind. It's like the point that everythins is a lie and the truth is lie, the is representing equal. So ergo evil is good and good is evil. No matter what you believe it's a never ending cycle.
