You are stranded on a deserted island. It's unclear if and when you will ever rejoin society. Assume others are with you. . .young and old. And food, shelter, etc., to live out the rest of your lives safely and comfortably.

So, if you could only take 10 BOOKS with you on the island, which titles/authors would you pick and why?

Be careful:

1. You may need some practical advice on how to survive on an island, deal with medical emergencies, etc.
2. You can select titles that are deeply personal to self indulgent but. . .
3. Wouldn't you want to share with others the best that your slice (and sense) of society and culture have to offer. . .
4. As well as have some books that would continue to stretch and challenge the mind, body, and spirit?

Think about it carefully and then reply back. . .the best answer will be selected on the basis of rationale and thoroughness!

i think its ignorant when people say "youre in america so you have to learn the official language - english!"

guess what! the united states does NOT have an official language!!!

also, people shouldnt call the united states "america" cause keep in mind that there is a south america too where people consider themselves "american".

The groom and his fiancee live out of town--they have never lived in this city, so the shower would be for family only. It's a very, very small wedding with only one attendant (the bride's sister.) They say that there are 7 deadly sins a human battles to prevent corruption and decay of soul.

1.)Greed
2.)Gluttony
3.)Lust
4.)Pride
5.)Wrath(Vengeance)
6.)Envy
7.)Sloth

Now you`re asking yourself, Do I contain one of this sins or do I have them all?

Honestly, I practically done all the 7 sins and its the reason why I`am stock in a corner of my life thinking that, "is this the end?"

I`ve noticed it recently and I dont think there`s anyway to revert my pureness altogether.

Anyone who can enlighten me with something, be my guess!

Do you have one of these sins? confess and try to let them all out even here.

This is not a religion thing, this is something to clear your thoughts and guilt, to remove all those nasty sins from scowering inside you.

I know some people think that "Sin rocks!", well actually, it clearly states that his/her life has already been defiled.

... is it that we just keep praying because it gives us that false sense of security (for lack of a better word) and God is a myth that allows control? I was raised in the church and taught how to pray but either I can't hear the answers or the answers aren't there. I have heard over and over the answers God gives us at those times is No. Well, when does it come up yes? And then, is it just a coincedence or is it an answer?

I really hope someone can help me. I'm trying to find the scripture in the Bible where someone told the children of Israel that they shouldn't "dig by the foot". It's in the old testament, somewhere between Exodus and Numbers. Possibly Dueteronomy. They were speaking to the children of Israel before they went into Canaan. A pastor preached from it, and I forgot to write it down. Where did it come from????

I have spoken with many catholics and been to many cathloic services. Catholics usually try to convince me to join their church, although I am an evangelical. I am curious why it is that catholics think they are going to have a higher place in heaven than i am, when it is clearly written that all who are born again are going to heaven. Is there a second or third "re-birth" that i dont know about? Or is it just some way to make them feel more righteous. I am very curious, and only want serious answers.
