I read that scientists conducted a study where they found something on the X gene.. it sort of changes randomly in the mother. The mothers in the study had one gay son or more. I read about the study from http://uk.gay.com/headlines/9652

One of many studies trying to determine what it is in people for those who are BORN gay. People do not choose to be gay

People are born that way, whether they choose to come to terms with themselves is up to them. Homosexuality is not a choice - at least I don't remember being asked if I wanted to live the easy life, or if I wanted to live a life full of hate, discrimination and hardships. I do not think anyone would want to live like that. For some people it is easier to come to terms with themselves and for others they fight with it internally their entire lives. I have known that I was somehow "different" since the age of 6 when sex was the last thing on my mind. Anyone who tells you that homosexuality is a choice is ill-informed and uneducated on the subject.

Genes, physiology, something that happens in the womb, some combination of the above coupled with something in the environment... no one knows for sure. My guess is that all of the above play into it and in more than one way. Whatever the cause, it's not a decision that a person makes. It just is.

I believe that we all have past lives. The books I've read mention that if we've been a female in another life and now we are male, we carry over female tendencies and now become homosexual. We are born with this. It is nothing terrible or wrong or sinful. It is a matter of life, a way of life.

Your scientific study is absolutely correct. You are born gay.
I know a guy, 5 brothers, one is gay - he told me he wouldn't
be gay if he had his choice, because he had a hard time
growing up with all the brothers.

All of these people who don't understand homosexuality
need to meet someone gay - they're no different from anyone
else & they don't attack or try to influence anyone.

I'm straight & have several gay friends - I don't get the
problem, unless someone wants to make it their problem.

people are BORN gay...it is NOT a choice!
it is not outside influences/nurture.
i knew no one growing up that was gay, no one that I know of in my family is gay.
I realized I was lesbian long before I actully met anyone openly gay. this was during the early 80's when sick, twisted homophobes were enjoying pointing their fingers telling us that AIDS was God's punishment for being gay (those poor, uneducated individuals...any excuse to use religion to justify hatred).
You think that at a time like that, I would CHOSE to be lesbian? NO! that's who I am and who I always have been.
Bible-thumpers, you're just wasting your time...

Our technology isn't even closed to advanced enough to isolate what gene is this and that for certain and probably won't be in this life time. However, homosexuality is found in nature in hundreds of different species, so that kinda kills the 'against nature argument'.

actually, it's the gay fairy that make people homosexual. he comes around while the child is still in the womb of his or her mother and spreads his magical gay-dust over the mummy's tummy.

Its a genetic programming. The level of control you can excercise over yourself determines the outcome.

Homosexuality is a choice.Everyone is born heterosexual and I believe that some people are born asexual;with little or no sex drive.
