... is it that we just keep praying because it gives us that false sense of security (for lack of a better word) and God is a myth that allows control? I was raised in the church and taught how to pray but either I can't hear the answers or the answers aren't there. I have heard over and over the answers God gives us at those times is No. Well, when does it come up yes? And then, is it just a coincedence or is it an answer?

God doesn't exist.
If it did, then don't you think the Christians would be a happier people? They certainly wouldn't always be questioning why god doesn't answer them or why he doesn't help them.

I don't pretend to have all the answers. No one does, all I can do tell you my own subjective experience.

I had one the shittier chidhoods you could think of. I'm not going into detail. As a child, I prayed and prayed for help. Nothing. Nada. Zip. By the time I was 12, I was an atheist. Remained that until 38, when out of a clear blue sky I started having real honest to goodness psychic experiences. No, I am not going to describe them. No, I cannot prove them scientifically. All I'm going to say is that if it happens to you, you'll be completely blown away, and you will know its real.

So I started trying to learn a few things. I found things like internet articles by anthropologists who experienced withcraft and magick in the field. They know it works. They don't dare publish because thier reputations will be ruined. I started reading books on it, and I also started reading books on quantum physics. I've been a practicing magickian for 5 years now. I've met and spoken with Pagan Gods while deep in trance. Yes, its real. No, I can't "prove" it. You can only prove it to yourself.

You want to hear the part that utterly disgusts me? I was about 2 years into my journey, just puttering around the house one day, replacing the weather strip on my back door. I tore off a 6ft. long piece of weather strip, folded it in half, and tossed it across the kitchen to pick up later. Quite improbably, it stood up on the 2 ends in the middle of the floor in the shape of the xtian fish.

After the childhood I had, all the sincere prayer for help, and never hearing anything, that god gives me a parlour trick at the age of 40. I laughed. I said is that the best you can do? That god has no power, other than the ability to decieve. He's evil. My advice: Stay away.

Have you ever heard the phrase that "God has a plan?". I think most Christians believe this. In fact, it has to be true, or how else would God be able to tell us what will happen in the book of Revelations? But...if we concede that God has a plan, and that God is perfect, then we have to acknowledge that the plan is perfect.

In this perfect plan, as in all of life, good things will happen and bad things will happen (and sometimes both at the same time. If you get a promotion, it probably means five of your co-workers just got passed over, and are pissed about it!). This also means, though, that prayer can't change the course of the plan. If God heard a prayer, and said "Oh, I wasn't going to cure your wife's cancer, but now I guess I will," it would mean his original plan wasn't perfect, which would mean God wasn't perfect. So the prayer can have absolutely no impact on the outcome of events.

So basically, what happens is, people pray, and stuff either happens or doesn't happen. When something good happens, they say their prayers were answered, when something bad happens, they say "God works in mysterious ways." But it's really neither of those. It's just stuff that happened. A good thing happening doesn't prove a prayer was answered, or prove God exists, just as a bad thing happening doesn't disprove God's existence.

God is listening. We are not dumb, we can hear the answers & do get answers, the thing is at times it comes in a form that's not acceptable to us. Sometimes we may get it & say that that's not what we asked for or wanted. However, if we accept what is given, the answer we wanted is found right behind it. God sometimes just wants us to work a little or have a little faith. And He doesn't always give to us in the time we want, it is given when he thinks the time is right. He knows us better than we know ourselves. Sometimes the things we ask of Him are not for us.

Psalm 24 verse 3 is very specific. Sin separates us from God.
If you really want to hear from God, first go through all possible sins and confess on behalf of you, your parents and fore parents going back 4 generations--see Exodus 34:6/7, Zechariah 3:1, and Exodus 19:10. Then fast and without opening your mouth, close your eyes and ask God the question. Now you know that you haven't told anyone the question, so when you get the answer, you know for sure it is God who is answering. then ask Him to confirm the answer at least three times. out of the blue, people either will come up to you and confirm the word or you will just happen to put on your radio and what you hear will be one of the confirmations.
For instance: I did what I suggested. I wanted to go to Israel and had only U.S$100 in my name. I was told to give the money to the other people who were going. I gave the money to a lady to take to the group leader. One week later I got a call from a young man who said to me that he just got promoted as a transcontinental flight captain. He reminded me that I pulled strings for him to be upgraded on a transcontinental flight years before. The captain invited him to the cockpit and that inspired him to become a pilot. He wanted to say thanks by rewarding me with a return ticket to Europe or the Middle East. I said to Israel and back. Only God could do that.
Boaz.

Actually that is one of the reasons I left Christianity. I need communication from my God and I wasn't getting it. I now get communication. Not with every prayer but with most of them. I didn't just ask for things when I prayed. I also thanked him for the things that he had given to me and the beautiful day, etc. It just was like I didn't exist and I couldn't take it any more. I found a religion where the Gods actually do talk to me.

Let me give you my opinion on this matter. The Bible tells us that anything we ask for in the name of Jesus Christ will be given unto us. "Ask and you shall receive and your joy will be complete."

This is confusing, though, since our prayers aren't always answered. We don't always receive when we ask--you and I both know this. Many people will say: "Sometimes God answers your prayer by not answering your prayer (i.e. sometimes his answer is 'no')." However, this is not at all what the Bible tells us will happen when we pray. It says that what we ask for will be granted. Sometimes people say: "Prayers are often answered at a later time. God knows best." If your prayer is something that needs to be answered quickly, then this won't really suffice. Once again, the Bible doesn't say: "Ask and you shall receive--but sometimes I'm just going to wait for a better time to answer your prayer."

So here's what you do. Since the Bible says that you will get what you ask for in prayer, pray for something with the following stipulation: "God, please don't let your answer to this prayer be 'no' and please answer my prayer now." Since you will receive what you ask for, God will abide by this stipulation. Now, I admit, this may not make all of your prayers be answered. In this case, I'd guess that the Scripture is wrong in saying that whatever you ask for will be given.

As a quick note, a scientific study was done in the past year where subjects were divided into two groups: prayed for subjects and non-prayed for subjects. The subjects underwent an operation. Turned out, the non-prayed for subjects fared a little better than the subjects who were prayed for. If your prayers begin to be answered with the above stipulation, I ask that you pray for this one thing for me: "Please don't send any more people to hell. Let all of your beloved children reside in heaven with your greatness for an eternity."

God exist whether you believe Him or not. He will suffer nothing if you believe him and will loose nothing if you don't.

God is always listening to your prayer, it just sometimes the answer are not always come in an instant, not always come in a pretty and glamorous gift. Sometimes it comes through pain, suffering, lack of food, money and lost of love ones. You must think it more deeply to be able to learn God's voice and plans.

Trust me, He listen. Keep praying !

I have had God to answer many of my prayers and questions, to actually hear him, you better get your Bible out.. because every time he has answered my questions he has used scripture. sometimes he will give me a verse that I haven't read (or even thought of) in a long time.. and it all falls into place.
I know many people that when they pray, they ask once in faith and never pray about it again. they say it's in faith and knowing that God will answer in his time. God does answer every single prayer, but sometimes the answer is simply "no".
another thing to remember is that God's time table and ours are not the same, he might be taking his time answering, for whatever reason.. but the answer will come.

I don't know and don't want to know what church you were raised in. As a born -again Christian I can tell you were raised in the wrong church and have been praying to the wrong God... Try praying to the God that is in the Holy bible.

So in different words, that Christian believes the homicide of a toddler became justified because God ought to "study his heart" and ascertain that he may be someone unworthy of existence. She then is going on to jot down that God warns human beings before he will kill them, even in spite of the indisputable fact that a toddler isn't able to being warned interior an similar way an adult or baby should be warned. She then writes that the toddler became given practise on a thanks to "live to inform the tale," even in spite of the indisputable fact that the toddler isn't able to expertise. because the toddler became incapable of listening, she thinks God did the right ingredient by technique of murdering him. And if that weren't stupid adequate, she stated on the accurate up her offensive, stupid paragraph that God did not quite pick to homicide him. Wow. If she represents the mentality of the overall public of Christians, and that i do experience like she is an precise depiction of maximum Christians, then i am going to stay as a procedures faraway from Christianity as plausible.
